Snow Girl!

The snow has finally stopped.

We end up getting just about 10 inches of snow.

Madison has always wanted to make a snowman, so I took her outside this morning to make her very first snowman. She wanted to do it all by herself, so she started scooping and piling up the snow.

While she was running in the snow to collect snow for her snowman, she ended up losing her boot. Don't worry, Mommy helped her get her boot back on after I took the picture.

Madison was happy with her first snowman which looked very much like a snow pile. She was ready to decorate Snow Girl.

We used colored water to decorate Snow Girl.

Madison wanted Snow Girl to have blue hair.

Madison worked very diligently to make sure that her first snowman was just right.

Don't worry this yellow snow is just made from colored water. ;)

Snow Girl and Madison!
After Madison made Snow Girl she decided to name her Snowy.

Madison keeps looking out the window every couple minutes to check and see if Snowy is okay. Madison is going to be very sad when her new friend melts.

Snow Art

Last night after the girls went to bed, I went outside to see if I could use colored water to make "Snow Art." Once I discovered that it would work, I collected several different cups and containers and filled them with colored water so that the girls could make their own "Snow Art."

Madison was very excited about making "Snow Art!"
(Jocelyn didn't want to go outside in the cold and snow today. She opted to say inside and color a picture on paper while Madison and I colored in the snow.)

Time for some RED!

She wanted a lot of purple in her picture.

Madison and her "Snow Art" masterpiece!

It is an abstract piece of artwork. ;)

Madison and I also made some Snow Handprint Art!

Snow Cream

The girls and I decided to make some Snow Cream this afternoon. You can find several recipes for Snow Cream online. I did not want to use raw eggs, so we made a very simple version that ended up tasting very good.

First, we mixed together 1 cup of sugar and 1 tablespoon of vanilla.

Then we added 1 cup of milk.

Next we went outside and got one large bowl of fresh clean white snow.

Time to combine our bowls.

Madison did a great job mixing our Snow Cream.

Madison wanted to make pink/purple Snow Cream, so she added some food coloring to her bowl.

It looks ready to eat!

Jocelyn wanted to make blue Snow Cream, so she mixed in some blue food coloring to her bowl.

Jocelyn's first BIG bite of Snow Cream!

Jocelyn's blue lips and teeth after eating her Snow Cream!

She even has a blue tongue!
What a fun SNOW DAY we are having! We even got to talk to Daddy today and tell him all about the snow. We wish he was here to play in it with us.

Fun with Friends in the Snow!

Even though we have 6 inches of snow, our dear friends...

Lance, Nyx, and Jude decided to drive over to visit us and play this morning.

Jude was all bundled up and ready to play in the snow!

Madison got her first icicle off of Mr. Lance's car.

Jocelyn isn't a big fan of being cold, but she decided to play in the snow for a little while.

She ATE a lot of SNOW!

Madison even decided to eat a little bit of snow off the mailbox.

Jocelyn got too cold, so we came inside to warm up.
The snow is still falling with no sign of stopping!

First BIG Snow!

I woke up this morning around 5:30 am and took this picture of the snow falling. I love watching the snow fall! According to the weatherman the snow should be falling from 5 am to 5 pm today. They are predicting 6 to 12 inches of snow for our area.

Madison woke up around 8:00 am and was so excited to see so much snow! She couldn't wait to eat her breakfast and go play in it. She asked me if there was enough snow to make a snowman and snow angels? I assured her that there was more than enough.

After breakfast I went outside to take some pictures of the house covered in snow. I thought this was a cool shot since you could see the snow falling.

Our snow covered house and yard. Snow is so beautiful!

Madison couldn't wait any longer and had to come outside and play in the snow!

She ran around the yard like crazy!

My pretty girl in the snowflakes!

We decided to wait to make snow angels and a snowman until Jocelyn wakes up, but...

we did have a snowball fight. Watch out Madison is throwing a snowball at you!!!

Snow White and her Dwarf

After school today Madison decided to dress-up like...

Snow White!

Once Madison got dressed up as Snow White she turned to Jocelyn and said, "do you want to be my dwarf?" Jocelyn eagerly answered, "YES! Which dwarf do I get to be?" Madison informed her that she could be "the dwarf that doesn't talk." Too funny! Needless to say it was a quiet afternoon with Snow White and her silent dwarf.

The "silent" Dwarf!

Jocelyn's day got even worse when Madison accidentally broke her Mulan doll.

Jocelyn LOVES Mulan, so she was very sad! Luckily she has two more just like it. ;)
