Jumping & Herding

Today Jocelyn got to help Miss Celina set up the obstacle course for Madison.  She also got to practice her balancing on the barrel.  

Madison continued to practice her jumping.  The pipes were even raised off the ground for the first time.

Awana Family

I have been serving in Cubbies, but I guess it is official because I got my Cubbies shirt!

Now we all get to wear our Awana uniforms on Sunday night. 

Keeping Busy

Last night we took Baxter to his first puppy class at PetSmart.  He learned to sit, leave it, and watch me.  

This morning Jocelyn made a monster at Micheals Kid's Craft Club.

Madison spent the morning at the VSU Red Hot's Dance Camp.

The VSU Dance Team taught the kids several dance routines.  Madison had the option to perform with them tonight at the VSU football game during half-time, but she thought it would be too scary with all those people watching.  Maybe she will perform with them next time.

Our Family

Today we dropped Daddy off at the airport for his third deployment.  It is always hard to say goodbye, but we are so proud of the work that Daddy does to serve our country.  

Before he left, we decided to take a new family portrait.  We realized we didn't have a family picture with Baxter in it yet.  We will all look forward to being reunited in several months.  We would appreciate your prayers.  

Fun at the C7 Ranch

Today Madison got to ride Holly.

The one question Madison had for the surgeon before her hernia surgery was, "how long before I can ride horses again?"  Madison is so happy that she is well enough to be back on the horses.  

Baxter loves going to the ranch and playing with his best friend Missy.

Jocelyn loved getting to go for a ride today too.

The girls love C7 Ranch, Miss Celina and all the horses.  

New Hampshire

My parents had a wonderful trip to New Hampshire celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary.

They got to visit with friends.

They got to spend time together.

They got to enjoy the gorgeous scenery.

We are excited because we have been invited to join them on their next trip to New Hampshire.  

CC Snacks

In Latin, we are learning the First Conjugation Endings - Imperfect Tense and one of them in pronounced "bot."  We thought it would be cute to make Latin Robots.  

In art, we discussed Abstract Art, so we decided to make Abstract Art Jell-O.

Our Weekend

We had a restful weekend laying around the house watching movies while Madison recovered from her surgery.

Katie surprised Madison with a balloon and flowers.

It was "Wacky Dress-Up" night at Awanas. 

On Saturday, Jocelyn made an owl puppet at the Michael's Kid Craft.

Madison's Hernia Surgery

Nana and Pop came up on Thursday to meet Baxter and stay the night with Jocelyn.  

Madison and I drove to Jacksonville Thursday afternoon and checked into the Hyatt Regency.

Madison enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub.

After we got cleaned up, we ordered room service and snuggled in the comfy beds.

Friday morning, we went to the Wolfson Children's Hospital for Madison's hernia surgery.

She was a little nervous.

She was rockin' her surgical cap.

We enjoyed some last minute snuggles before surgery.

She is ready to get rolled back for surgery.

The surgery went really well, but she was out of it when they let me back to go see her.  They gave her a bear for being so brave.  They released her from the hospital around 1pm and we were home at 3pm.  Daddy got home from his two weeks of training just minutes after us.  We are so happy that Daddy doctor is here while she is recovering.  

Trail Ride

Today Madison got to go on her first trail ride.  

Jocelyn enjoyed the beautiful weather and visiting with the other horses. 

Baxter played in the pasture and rested under a tree.  After the riding lesson, we took Baxter to the vet for his 10 week old shots.  We found out that he weighs 5 pounds!  

Alphabet Cereal Treats

The girls and I found Alphabet Cereal Bars online and decided to make them for CC snack this week. 

We put ours in cupcake tins, rather than cutting them into squares.  They turned out cute and taste yummy too.  I think the kids will enjoy finding letters and making words as they eat their Alphabet Cereal Treats.

Cowgirls & Postcards

Today was "Cowgirl Night" at Awanas.  Jocelyn liked dressing up and getting more postcards from Grandma Cathy. 

Sundays are hard for Baxter because he is alone all morning while we are at Sunday School and Church and then alone all evening when we are at Awana.  Madison made sure he got lots of extra snuggles and playtime while we were home.

Madison was excited that she got to hold the Awana flag for the pledge.

Happy 40th Anniversary!

Today my parents celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.

Arts & Crafts

Jocelyn loves arts and crafts.

She can make things anywhere we go.

Recently, she has been enjoying Wikki Stix.

Here are some pictures she made with them.

She has decided that she wants to go to the Michael's Kid Crafts on Saturdays.  She enjoyed this week's stamping craft.  Maybe she can start making cards with Nana.
