Tank Dresses

Madison has been asking me to sew her a dress ever since I got a sewing machine. I have been nervous to try, until I found this idea for Tank Dresses.

I took some of Madison's tank tops that she never wears and turned them into dresses for her.

Madison loves the colored leaf fabric that she picked out for her new Fall dress.

Madison can't wait to celebrate Halloween in her new Jack-O-Lantern dress.

The girls had matching tank tops that I was able to make into these cute little matching dresses for them.

They LOVE them!

Happy 65th Anniversary!

Today my Grandma and Grandpa (dad's parents) are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary!

Today is also Grandpa's 84th birthday!

Christmas in July!

Madison told me last Halloween what she wanted to be this Halloween. I thought she would change her mind, but every once in a while she would remind me about her costume. She was convince that I should sew the costume myself, since I have a sewing machine. I thought about trying to make it for her, but when I discovered this cheap already made costume, I couldn't resist. It arrived in the mail today and Madison LOVES it!

Madison will be Mary for Halloween. Jocelyn thinks she would like to be an angel. They are trying to convince Daddy to be the donkey. ;)

Madison has already asked if on our next mommy/daughter date we can go to Joann's fabric to get some swaddling clothes for baby Jesus.

Today we got to go over and snuggle baby Gage while his mommy got a much needed break.

Mystery Solved!

A few weeks ago we went to Sesame Place and couldn't figure out who this character was.

The girls solved the mystery this morning while they were watching Sesame Street.

They came running to tell me that it is Murray Monster!

Children's Museum in Portsmouth

Today we met Mr. Drew, Amelia and her grandparents at the Children's Museum in Portsmouth.

Zoo Day!

This morning we went to the zoo with Mr. Drew, Amelia and her grandparents.

Today we learned how to tell a monkey from an ape. Monkeys have TAILS and apes DO NOT.

The Red Panda was so cute sleeping in his tree. After looking at the animals, we went to story time and rode the train.

Our Day on the Lake with Friends!

It was a beautiful summer day so we met Nyx and Jude at the Sandy Bottom Nature Park to go paddle boating.

Mr. Drew and Amelia opted for a canoe.

Happy 5th Birthday Jocelyn!

Today is Jocelyn's 5th Birthday!

Jocelyn got to plan her special day. She asked Daddy to make her chocolate chip pancakes for her birthday breakfast.

Then we went to the Cinema Cafe to see Cars 2.

After the movie, she wanted to go to the beach.

She couldn't wait to build a sandcastle.

Then we came home and had a birthday dinner with Mr. Lance, Mrs. Nyx and Jude. Jocelyn and Jude share the same birthday.

Jocelyn picked a Rita's cake for her birthday dessert this year. It is vanilla custard with cherry Italian ice, topped with Oreo cookies and chocolate drizzle.

Mrs. Nyx and Mr. Lance made Jude his Care Bear cookie cake. Isn't it cute? Mr. Lance did a great job decorating it. Mrs. Nyx made the cookie and icing. It was delicious!

Jude loved all of his Curious George gifts from us!

Our birthday girl is ready to open her gifts from Mommy and Daddy!

She got some cute scientific tools to examine all of the creatures she finds on her nature walks.

She also got some new Play-Doh sets.

Madison got her sister the Despicable Me DVD.

The girls loved their new Pinkalicious DS Games from Mrs. Nyx, Mr. Lance, and Jude.

Peninsula Pilots!

Tonight we took the girls to their first baseball game.

They got to see a grand slam!

Madison cheered for the Peninsula Pilots, but was concerned that the baseball players were sliding and getting their pants dirty. That's my girl! ;)

Summer Ice Skating!

Today we took the girls ice skating. They thought it was fun to wear winter clothes in the middle of summer.
