Jocelyn's School Birthday Party!

Today we celebrated Jocelyn's summer birthday at school.

Jude and Jocelyn share the same birthday.

It was Field Day at school today too, so the kids had a blast playing in the bouncy house.

Time with Amelia!

Today is Drew and Jamie's anniversary. The girls and I offered to watch Amelia, so that they could go out on a date. They went to the driving range and then out to lunch.

We had fun playing outside.

The girls enjoyed helping Amelia with everything.

The three girls had a great time together.

After dinner we went to Noland Trail to walk a little bit. We discovered this HUGE turtle.

It was a beautiful evening to enjoy the outdoors.

After enjoying the peacefulness of the lake, we headed to Rita's for dessert.

Fish Bowl Snacks

This week Jocelyn's preschool class is learning about fish, so Madison read them Rainbow Fish 1,2,3.
We made them Fish Bowl snacks to eat after the story using a rice cake, blue icing and Swedish fish.

Sailboat Snack

This week Jocelyn's preschool class was learning about boats, so Madison read This Boat to the class.

We made little sailboat snacks for a special treat after the story. We used celery, peanut butter, a toothpick and cheese to make these cute sailboat snacks.

Breakfast in Bed!

The girls (and Daddy) surprised me with breakfast in bed for Mother's Day! They made stuffed French toast with strawberries and bananas. They even went outside and picked a pretty flower for me.

Jocelyn couldn't wait to give me the special Mother's Day gift she made at preschool.

A little Jocelyn flower made out of her hand and footprints.

Madison wrote me a song for Mother's Day.

I LOVE YOU!
By: Madison Rabens
I love you. I just love you so much that I could kiss you so much.
You make me breakfast, lunch and dinner.
You are a great teacher!

Here is the video of Madison singing her special Mother's Day song for Mommy:

I LOVE my girls so much and feel extremely blessed to be their Mommy. What a special gift from God they both are.

We want to wish my mom, Clay's mom, our grandmothers, Jocelyn's birthmother, Jocelyn's birth grandmother, and all of the other mothers a very Happy Mother's Day!

Daddy got his WINGS!

We are so proud of Daddy for getting his wings. The girls made him a special banner to celebrate Daddy's accomplishment. Madison wore her red, white and blue and Jocelyn wore her flight suit to the airport to pick up Daddy. We are so happy to have him home for a few days before he leaves for another month of training.

Jocelyn can READ!

Jocelyn is just starting to learn to read. She has known her letters and sounds for quite awhile now and is finally showing interest in learning how to read. Madison took her up to her room with some easy readers and gave her a quick lesson. It was very cute! Jocelyn came downstairs all excited and couldn't wait to read me a book all by herself. I was on the phone with Grandma so we both got to hear her read the book HOT! She wanted me to make a video of her reading for everyone and decided to read you a book about one of her favorite foods.

Hope you enjoyed Jocelyn's reading. We are off to eat a big bowl of ice cream!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

I found this cute idea online for Sombrero Cookies.

Madison had so much fun helping me make them for a special Cinco de Mayo snack for Jocelyn's preschool.

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Strawberry Picking Again

Today we went back to Wood's Orchard to pick some more strawberries with Mr. Drew and Amelia.

Amelia ate way more strawberries than she picked. ;)

The girls couldn't wait to make a strawberry pie with all of our fresh berries.
