A Day with Daddy!

Daddy got home from Baltimore last night.  He took today and tomorrow off to spend some time with us before going back to work.
He took us to The Spot on base to have lunch and go bowling.

We went to the pool and splash park in the afternoon to cool off.

After dinner, we made paper dinosaurs.  We got the book from the base library earlier in the day.

Madison had fun making and decorating the paper dinosaurs.

Love God Artwork

It was another rainy afternoon, so we decided to paint another canvas.
This time we stuck letter stickers on it to spell LOVE GOD in the shape of a cross.

Then we painted it with sparkle paint.

Once it dried, we outlined the letters and cross with black marker.

The girls love the finished product and the fact that it sparkles in the light.

Rainy Day Art

It has rained all weekend, so the girls and I decided to do some rainy day artwork.

We all worked together to make this rainbow canvas.  First, we stuck sticker letters to the blank canvas.  Then, we drew pencil lines and painted them in with rainbow colors.  Finally, we removed the sticker letters and outlined them with black marker.

It was a fun project that reminded us that God will never flood the Earth again, even though we have had tons of rain here lately.

Pine Cone Bird Feeders

Now that we have pine trees in our yard, we decided to make pine cone bird feeders.
Now we just have to wait and see if the birds like them.

Little Songwriters

Today the girls decided to write their own songs.  I found all of these songs written on the whiteboard.

They even came up with choreography for some of the songs.  I am looking forward to the Successful Sisters concert on Saturday night.

The girls were thrilled to find a birthday package from Grandma Cathy waiting for them when we got home to Georgia.

They love the little flower pots with ladybugs and butterflies and can't wait to go shopping at Target with their gift cards.

Iron-on T-shirts

We found some iron-on items on clearance, so the girls decided to design their own t-shirts.

Madison made herself a Dino Girl t-shirt.

Jocelyn was having trouble deciding what to put on her t-shirt, but after several suggestions she settled on "Jocelyn the Cutie."

The girls like their new t-shirts and plan on using them for night shirts or art shirts.

MERmaid

The girls love their new aprons that Grandma and Granddaddy gave them for their birthdays.  Jocelyn's is ladybugs and Madison's is mermaids.

Clay calls Madison..."MER"maid, because M.E.R. our her initials and "maid" because he tells her to do things for him. She is our little "M.E.R. the maid" ;)

The girls are having so much fun designing dresses with the kits that Mamaw gave them for their birthdays.  It is amazing how many different designs they have made.

They even convinced Granddaddy to start designing.

Jocelyn's 7th Birthday!

Jocelyn's birthday started with breakfast in bed.  She requested Hot Fudge Sundae Pop Tarts.

Granddaddy surprised the birthday girl with a toilet paper birthday banner in the bathroom.

Mommy and her birthday girl!

Jocelyn wanted to see Despicable Me 2 for her birthday.

After the movie, we ate lunch at the food court.

On the way home, we stopped by Menchies for some frozen yogurt.

After eating her Smurf frozen yogurt, she decided she wants to go see Smurfs 2 when it comes out.

Jocelyn wanted to spend the afternoon in the pool.

She loves jumping in the pool,

playing with her sister,

relaxing on the float,

and riding the blow-up toys.

Jocelyn surprised everyone when she caught this lizard out by the pool.

We finished Jocelyn's birthday with some yummy cupcakes.
