Looking for Lemon L

Jocelyn tried to write the Letter L for the first time today.

We explored lemons and limes.

We tasted the lemon and lime juice.

Time to use invisible ink to write our letter Ll's.
Dip a cotton swab into lemon juice. With the juice, write the Letter Ll's on white paper. Let them dry.

I wonder what secret message Jocelyn is writing with her lemon juice.

While we waited for our papers to dry we played with Counting Bears.
We even did some patterning with our Counting Bears.
*****************
Once our papers dried, we put them between brown paper bags and rubbed them with a medium-hot iron. Our invisible messages magically appeared. We waited until Daddy got home to have him reveal our secret messages and letter Ll's. It was pretty cool!

Library and Lunch on the Lawn

This morning I took the kids to the Langley Library.

The girls loved this cool computer.

Madison wanted to look for the book that we read last time we visited the library.

She found it! She loves, Rapunzel.

Jocelyn enjoyed playing with the beads while I read Rapunzel to Madison.

Jocelyn was giving Jude a lesson on how to play with it.

Madison decided to lay down next to the letter L she found on the library letter carpet.

Look he learned how to do it himself.

We came home and had Lunch on the Lawn!

We enjoyed getting to spend the morning with Jude.

Madison made us some Lemonade when we came inside. It is one of her favorite drinks now.

We practiced the Letter L today with our Ll stampers and...

Ll Ladybug stencil.

Lollipops and Leaves!

One of our first activities each day is the calendar. Madison did a great job using the pointer to show us that today is Tuesday.

No peeking at Madison's paper, Jocelyn!

Time for Do-A-Dot Letter L's.

Madison decided to do her L in a pattern.

YEAH, lollipops for our L snack today!

First, we sorted them by color to see which color had the most and which color had the least. Brown and Red tied for the most with 11 and blue and yellow tied for the least with 4.

Time to lick my lollipop!

More fun with Pattern Blocks.

Today they made an animal out of their Pattern Blocks and trace it onto their paper.

Madison made a kitty cat out of her Pattern Blocks and traced it onto her paper.

Jocelyn made a bunny rabbit wearing a hat, because every bunny needs a hat.

Time to go outside for a "Leaf Hunt."
Wow, look at the BIG leaf Madison found!

Jocelyn was very proud of her leaf.

Time to make our leaf rubbings.
Our finished leaf rubbings and cool leaves!

Video of Jocelyn

Jocelyn was too cute doing her math table work with the Pattern Blocks. Enjoy watching the unique way she completes her paper.

Let the Homeschooling Begin!

Today was are first day of homeschooling. This week's letter is "Ll."

The girls laying on the floor making the lowercase letter l.

Madison did a great job doing her letter Ll table work. She wrote the letter Ll and found all of the lowercase l's on the page.

For snack today we had licorice. Before we ate our L snack, we made Licorice Letter L's with it.

After snack we explored Pattern Blocks. Madison decided to make patterns with her Pattern Blocks.

She then completed her math Pattern Block table work without any help.

Jocelyn was very diligent with her work too.

She was so happy when she finished!

When they finished their work they got to play with the magnetic pattern blocks. Madison was too busy to look at the camera.

Jocelyn made a cat out of her Pattern Blocks.

We finished our school day with an "L is for Letters and Love" activity. Madison wrote a letter to a person she loves about what she likes about school.

Mommy wrote Jocelyn's letter for her, but she colored it and put the stamp on all by herself.

Time to mail our letters to the people we love. Maybe you will get a letter?

Fun Forest

Clay took the girls along with Lance and Jude to the "Fun Forest!"

What a cool playground!

This wall was filled with kids' handprints.

Jude and Madison love swinging together.

Don't fall!

Jocelyn's new pet!
