Long Day of Driving

We checked out of our TLF this morning at 6:30 am and then went over to check out with Dr. Haynes at 7:00 am over at the gym. We were on the road by 7:30 am. The girls did very well in the car considering how long the drive was. We only made 2 emergency potty stops and a stop for lunch and dinner. The girls and I finally stopped at 8:00 pm at Exit 97 in North Carolina. Clay arrived an hour and a half later, since he was traveling much slower in the big Budget truck hauling his car. We are spending the night at a Quality Inn with free Internet access. YEAH! We will be getting up at 6:00 am for the free continental breakfast and then driving the last 3 hours to our new home in Virginia. We have to meet the realtor at 9:00 to get the keys. We will then spend the day unloading the Budget truck, returning the truck and trying to get a game plan for when the movers show up with our stuff on Thursday. The Internet and Cable people aren't scheduled to come until Friday. Until then...

Our Truck is Loaded!

We went to pick up our Budget truck on Saturday at 11:00. After being there for an hour as they filled out paperwork, we finally left with a 24 foot truck. We had requested and reserved a 16 foot truck. They were trying to be nice by giving us a bigger truck, but it was way bigger than we needed. Oh well!

The girls enjoyed playing in it before we loaded it with the bins.

Unfortunately, we had to go back to the Budget place on Monday to have them help us get Clay's car onto the towing trailer. When we tried at home, it almost ripped his bummer off. Luckily, they suggested putting air in his tires to raise his car high enough to clear.

We are ALL going crazy in this TLF. Is it time to go yet?

Goodbye for Now!

Our Internet is getting turned off tomorrow and we do not have Internet access at our TLF on base, therefore I will not be able to blog until we arrive in Virginia and get our Internet set up there.

Our Schedule for the next few days:

Saturday - We will be getting our Budget Truck and then going to our last party with the doctors here at Eglin. Rob and Cliff will be coming over after the party to help us load the Budget truck.

Sunday - We will go to CrossWay Community Church for the last time to say goodbye to our church family.

Monday - We will be cleaning out the house and preparing to leave.

Tuesday - We will begin the long drive to Virginia.

Wednesday - We will arrive to Virginia and get the keys to our new house. We will unload and return our Budget truck.

Thursday - The movers will deliver our stuff to our house in Virginia.

Please be praying that the move goes smoothly and that God would provide renters for our house here in Florida. Goodbye for now. Virginia here we come!

Banquet

Tonight Clay and I went to the Family Medicine Residency Banquet. It is always a great evening to get dressed up and enjoy time with friends.

The girls had a great evening with PapPaw. He took them to McDonald's and to play Goofy Golf. Madison wanted to take pictures of Daddy and Mommy all dressed up before we left. Here are her best attempts:

Us inside our TLF.

A fuzzy one outside.

Daddy decided to take one of Mommy.

Clay received the "Teacher of the Year" Award.

He also got a gavel for his service as one of the "Chief Residents."

The nurses gave him a book to help him survive working with Lance in Virginia.

He also got some Kool-Aid.

I am going to miss these beautiful ladies. Remember ladies, rank Langley high on your list! :)

Eewwww!

We are staying in the TLFs on base now that all of our stuff is loaded on the moving truck. The TLFs on base are very old, small and run down. I could live with that, but last night right before bed, I discovered a ...

Palmetto Bug right next to the bed!
Clay found some bug spray to kill it, but it ran up into the drapes before hopefully dying. He couldn't find the remains though, so it left me with a very uneasy feeling going to bed last night. I was ready to just head back to the empty house and sleep here.

Loading Day!

The movers showed up this morning with a HUGE moving truck to load our stuff into.

Our house is empty!

Goodbye stuff! See you in Virginia!
***************
A big thank you to Jodi! She was kind enough to watch Madison and Jocelyn for us on Monday and Tuesday while the movers were here packing and loading our stuff. The girls had a great time with Miss Jodi and Jackson!

Packing Day!

The moving company sent over ONE packer this morning to pack our stuff. We thought it would take him ALL day to pack our stuff since he was by himself, but he was only here from 8:30 - 3:30. He was a very nice guy and worked very hard in the extreme heat!

The boxes are packed and ready to load tomorrow!

Happy 4th Birthday, Madison!

Madison turned 4 years old today!
I told her that she needs to stop growing because she is getting too big and she looked at me sweetly and said,
"But Mommy you know that God makes me grow."
Where did the time go?

It is hard to believe that it has been 4 years already since Daddy held his little girl and made phone calls to announce her arrival.

Here is a video from Madison's 1st birthday:

Madison LOVES vanilla cake!

Ladybug Birthday Party!

Today was the girls' Ladybug Birthday Party at Cherokee Park!

Ready for the guests to arrive!

The table was filled with Ladybug party favors that the kids got to take home.

They each got a bug book too!

The cutest little Ladybug cakes I got from Sam's Club.

We also surprised Daddy with a cake for his 30th birthday.

Daddy and his girls!

Daddy showed Madison pictures of when he was a little boy.

Our Family!

Each guest got a pair of Ladybug antennae to wear. Isn't Moriah cute in her ladybug dress?

Time for some pizza.

Pinata Time!

Candy!

Time for cake!

I still can't believe she is turning 4!

The cupcakes were YUMMY!

Madison with her cute personalized purse from Keenan and Moriah.

Jocelyn loves hers too!

Yeah, more dress-up clothes!
Although it was a VERY HOT day, it was great to get together with friends before we leave! Thank you to everyone that braved the HEAT and came to the party!

Our night with the Kitsteiner Boys

Tonight Isaac and Elijah came over while Wendi and John went out for their anniversary.

Madison entertained Elijah by making funny faces.

She then fed him his bottle.

Isaac had fun playing with all of the girl toys. He loved this princess wand!

Time to wrestle.

Isaac kept smacking Clay in the face, so...

Clay gave him the CLAW!

Isaac Loved it! He kept pulling Clay's hand towards him to do it again.

The night ended with horse rides.
