Popcorn Pp's

It is "P Week!"

Today we made Popcorn Pp's.

We put pink and purple colored glue on foam Pp's. Then we put popcorn all over our Pp's.

Jocelyn liked eating the popcorn as she worked on her Popcorn P!

Happy Birthday, Grandma!

We are sad that we can't be with Grandma this year for her birthday, but we did make her a special happy birthday video.

We love you and miss you very much, Grandma. We hope you have a wonderful birthday!

Children's Museum of Virginia

Today we took the girls to the Children's Museum of Virginia in Portsmouth. It is closing down next week for renovations and is not scheduled to reopen until 2011.

Madison enjoyed playing at the pretend grocery store.

They got to drive a firetruck and...

a police motorcycle.

Madison wanted to mail a birthday card to Grandma at the pretend Post Office.

Silly Madison loved crawling through the tunnels and sliding down the slide.

One of the coolest things was getting to be inside a HUGE bubble!

Peek-a-boo, Jocelyn.

Madison took us all on a bus ride. I loved that she crossed her legs while she drove the bus.

Jocelyn got in trouble from bus driver Madison for not holding on to the pole while we were moving.

Madison rocked it out on the HUGE guitar.

Computer Time!

One last Dragon ride before we left.

Toothpaste Putty

Since it is "T Week,"
we decided to make some "Toothpaste Putty."

1/2 tsp toothpaste (cream not gel)
1 tsp white glue
2 tsp cornstarch
1/2 tsp water

Mix toothpaste, glue and cornstarch. Add water until you have a lump of putty. Wash and dry hands. Squeeze and roll putty into a ball, the more it is rolled and pulled the better it gets. Will begin to dry in 20 minutes. Just add a drop of water to soften. Will dry rock hard in 24 hours.

Tutu Tuesday!

Jude came over this morning because Nyx had a dentist appointment. The girls were playing dress up when he arrived, so he decided to join in the fun. It didn't take Jude very long to find something he wanted to wear.

Too cute in his Tutu!

Madison and Jude decided to do the Bella Cinderella Dance DVD together.

They were so cute dancing together.

Here is a little glimpse of Madison and Jude in action.

Growing Word Worm

Now that we have learned the letters L, O, G, H, and T, we can read and spell the following words...

log, hog, got, hot, lot, and tot.

Our Word Worm just keeps growing!

Tent and Tissue Paper Tt's

The girls were so excited to see what was inside of the "Alphabet Mystery Bag" this week for T Week. It was a...

T is for Tent!

Madison decided to go get Jocelyn's big red blanket and make a campfire out of it. She put it close to the stairs so that she could pretend that the steps were logs to sit on. Then she asked me to get her some marshmallows and toothpicks. Time to toast some marshmallows. YUMMY!

Today we decided to make Tissue Paper Tt's.

The first thing you do is cover a transparency with a glue and water mixture.
Then place tissue paper squares all over it.

Madison was very proud of her finished Tissue Paper Tt's.

Time to let them dry.

Our finished Tissue Paper Tt's!

Madison wanted to make everyone a video to explain how to make Tissue Paper Tt's. Maybe someday we will see her with her own show on HGTV.

Weekend with Daddy

Clay and Lance took the kids to DC for the weekend, so that Nyx and I could have a break. What sweet, thoughtful husbands we have! They left Saturday morning at 7:00am. The goodbye was a little difficult because Madison started crying and didn't understand why I wasn't coming with them. Jocelyn just kept telling her, "Daddy said Mommy can't come."

Daddy and his girls riding the metro.

Lance and Jude

The girls were excited to be going to the zoo!

Looking at the zebras.

Several of the animals were hiding because of the cloudy & rainy weather.

Jocelyn telling Jude all about the animals.

I made each of the girls a card and gave them to Clay to give to them sometime during the trip when they were missing Mommy.

Madison liked the picture I drew of her and I on the back of the card. She kissed the picture of Mommy several times. :)
*************************************
I enjoyed my time alone even though I missed them terribly. Saturday morning I went to the Norfolk Mall, then went to Home Goods and Tuesday Mornings in Virginia Beach. I was headed home when I saw that the tunnel had a 8 mile back-up, so I changed plans and did some shopping in Chesapeake before heading home. Once I got home I worked on planning and preparing for the next few weeks of homeschooling. Nyx called and we decided to go to dinner together at Red Robin. We then went to Mia & Maxx Salon to get our hair done. I got my haircut and Nyx got highlights. Since we didn't have to get up early this morning we decided to go see a late movie. We went to see "The Time Traveler's Wife," but 50 minutes into it Nyx decided we should have gone to see "The Proposal." So we were very bad girls and switched movie theatres. I can't wait for "The Time Traveler's Wife" to come out on DVD, because I can't stand the fact that I didn't see how it ended. Needless to say it was a very late night. We didn't get home until after midnight. Luckily we could sleep in this morning. Although I was still up by 8:00am. This morning I ran to Target to get the girls a little "Home Coming" & "Mommy Missed You" gift. The rest of the morning was spent working on homeschool stuff, doing laundry and watching a Lifetime movie I had recorded. It was a wonderful gift to have a day and a half all to myself. Thank you very much, Clay!

Friday Firsts

This morning was Madison's first private Speech Therapy here in Virginia. She will be going once a week for an hour session. Madison seems to like her new therapist.
*********************
This morning when we were out I found a pool on clearance at Kmart. The girls couldn't wait to try it out. I intended to set the pool up under the covered porch in the backyard, but the only working faucet is in the front of the house. Clay couldn't believe it when he got home and found us like this...

The mailman and several other people that passed by us also got a good chuckle at us playing in our front yard pool.

Madison and I enjoyed relaxing in our new pool even though we looked silly!

All of the excitement was too much for Jocelyn, so she took her first nap in a long time. I soooooooooo miss the days my kids napped. My big girls just don't want to nap anymore. :(

Tonight Jocelyn drew her first picture of Jude. The funniest part was that when she showed us the picture she said, "Here is Jude and all of his teeth that he bites me with." :o Jude bit her this morning and I guess she is having trouble forgiving and forgetting.

Wii are having FUN!

Lance and Nyx are letting us use their Wii for awhile to see if the girls are old enough to enjoy it before we invest in one.

Here is a video of Madison Wii Boxing in her own unique way. I'm not sure why she has to run in place while she is boxing. :)

Here is a video of Madison and Jocelyn pitching in Wii Baseball. They strike the batters out just like Uncle Kyle.

H is for Hop!

I surprised the girls by putting blue tape on the floor in the shape of a capital H and lowercase h this morning. We HOPPED along the Hh's.

Honey Writing

Since it is "Hh Week," we decided to write our letters in HONEY today.

Jocelyn was very excited about writing in Honey. Madison on the other hand didn't want to touch the sticky Honey.

First, we squeezed the Honey on some wax paper inside a pan.

Then we got writing.

Here is a video of Jocelyn writing her letters in Honey and saying her memory verses!

Afternoon at the Pool

This afternoon the girls and I met Nyx and Jude at the base pool.

Jude spent most of the afternoon climbing in and out of the pool.
Jocelyn got tired of swimming and decided sit in a chair and watch.

Here is a video of Madison showing you what she can do in the water.

Mommy's Tummy

The girls and I were laying on the couch last night snuggling before we went to bed. I started telling Jocelyn about how I saw on Mrs. Megan's blog that Jeren is wearing big boy underwear now. She tried to change the subject by saying that baby Isaac and Jeren's little brother wear diapers. For some reason she couldn't think of Desmond's name, so she started saying you know the baby that came out of Mrs. Megan's tummy. To which I said "Baby Desmond." I decided to take this opportunity to see how much she understood. I ask her, "Did Jocelyn come of out mommy's tummy?" She looked at me and stated,
"No I didn't come out of your tummy, just Madison."

Who took my camera?

Sometime this weekend someone got a hold of my camera and took several pictures.

When I was trying to figure out who the camera thief was, I found this picture...

Next time you decide to take Mommy's camera, don't take a picture of yourself using it. :)
