MERmaid

The girls love their new aprons that Grandma and Granddaddy gave them for their birthdays.  Jocelyn's is ladybugs and Madison's is mermaids.

Clay calls Madison..."MER"maid, because M.E.R. our her initials and "maid" because he tells her to do things for him. She is our little "M.E.R. the maid" ;)

Random Silliness

We love playing games!  Last night, our game of Hedbanz turned into Limbo.

We also enjoy doing puzzles.  For some reason, Madison has decided to wear a baseball cap like Uncle Kyle these days.

Madison is doing a great job learning her multiplication facts.  She has been having trouble memorizing a few of them, so I taped the difficult multiplication facts to her and she wore them around and practiced them all day.  She knows the multiplication facts now and thinks her Mommy is super silly.  ;)

After school, Mackenzie came over for a Masquerade Tea Party!

What I like about English...

Madison's assignment said, "write about what you like about English." Here is what she wrote:

What I like about English!
I like English because mommy and daddy speak English. My whole family speaks English. ;)

Falling!

The girls and I met some friends at a local playground this morning and then went out to lunch with them. On the way home the "BRAKE" light came on in the van, so I drove it straight to the Honda dealership to have it checked out. After waiting an hour for them to evaluate it, they came and told me that the van needed new front and rear brakes. They also informed me that as they were pulling my van into the repair area, they hit something and popped my tire. Since the tire was their fault they repaired it free of charge. The girls and I were getting very bored during our 2.5 hour wait, so we had some fun taking pictures with my phone. The wall in the kid's waiting area was painted like the sky, so we took pictures of us...

SOLD!!!

Silly little Jocelyn always makes us smile, but she cracked us all up when she came around the corner with a 22 cent price tag on her nose. Daddy immediately said, "SOLD!" "How much for Mommy and Madison?" To which Madison quickly replied, "I am only 91 cents." What a deal!

Message to Mommy...

I was busy correcting Madison's phonics paper when I turned around and found this note...

Apparently she wasn't sure how to spell potty, so she drew a picture of one. A picture is worth a thousand words. ;)

Art Show!

The girls have been busy making watercolor pictures for their Art Show! They decided that we are going to watch Dumbo tonight, but stop the movie halfway through for an art show intermission. Where do they come up with these ideas?!? At least they haven't said that they are charging us this time. Last week they put on a ballet show after dinner and they charged us each a dime to see the show. Then I found out that the following night they charged the babysitter a quarter to see the show. Gotta LOVE them. ;)

TOUSE!

Our creative little girl is at it again. This morning she created a...

TOUSE!

We have been learning about how to write a paragraph, so we decided to write one about Madison's touse.

First, we wrote the topic at the top of the paper and then Madison wrote several sentences/ideas about the topic.

We then took her thoughts and ideas and wrote our paragraph.

TOUSE
Do you know what a touse is? A touse is a combination of a house and a tent. To build a touse you need some chairs, blankets, and bean bags. A touse is lots of fun!

Madison plans to sleep inside her touse tonight!

Dear Tooth Fairy...

Madison was SUPER EXCITED this morning when she discovered that the Tooth Fairy left her $5.00! She was sad to discover that her tooth was no longer in her tooth box, so she wrote the Tooth Fairy the following letter...

Dear Tooth Fairy,
Thank you for the 5 dollars, but I want my tooth back!
Love,
Madison

Thunderstorms and Tattoos

The girls and I have had a very uneventful weekend. It has been raining off and on all weekend. Needless to say we stayed inside most of the weekend and just caught up on cleaning and laundry.

The girls made several crafts this weekend. They can't wait for the rain to stop so that they can go outside and hang up their bird feeders.

Madison even found a tattoo from Valentine's Day that she had hidden in her treasure box. She was so excited to put the tattoo on, but minutes after I took this picture she took it off. Hopefully I don't ever have to worry about her getting a real tattoo since she wouldn't even keep the fake one on for five minutes. ;)

This afternoon we snuggled in the playroom listening to the rain fall and watching the movie Ponyo. The girls really enjoyed the movie. But I must admit that I fell asleep for a few minutes during the movie. Jocelyn noticed that I had my eyes closed and immediately woke me up so that I wouldn't miss the movie. Thanks Jocelyn! ;)

Lipstick Madison

I bought a new lipstick pencil and before I could put it in my make-up bag, Madison decided to put some lipstick on all by herself. She immediately went to the mirror to check herself out. I must admit that she did a much better job applying the lipstick this time than she did the first time she got into Mommy's make-up. Click here to see the first time Madison applied lipstick. I couldn't decided which picture I liked BEST! So here they ALL are:

Introducing the Happy Couple!

A couple of months ago Madison said, "sometimes I just can't stop smiling at school." I assumed it was because she liked school. She continued to tell me that "when I am in Centers or sit next to Scott at school I just start smiling and can't stop. I like Scott more than Kayla." Kayla is Madison's and Jocelyn's best friend at school. It looks like Madison has her first school boy crush!

Today I went to school to drop off the St. Patrick's Day treats and was able to take a picture of Madison and Scott. Here is the happy couple:

I didn't even ask them to hold hands, they just did! ;)

Jude and Nyx came with me to the class today to check it out. Jude had tons of fun playing with the kids at centers. Madison drove Jude and Kayla around in the school bus. Jude is looking forward to going to school here next year with Jocelyn.

Madison's Birthday Wish List

Madison is very excited about her upcoming birthday. It isn't until the end of June, but she knows that Daddy will be coming home shortly after her birthday, so she is doing everything she can to speed up her birthday this year. This morning she decided to write out her birthday wish list. I am sure that this will be a growing list. ;)

She wrote her name on top, so that I would know that it was for her and not for Jocelyn.
The first item on her list says Barbies, but according to her this means she wants a Barbie dollhouse and anything else Barbie. She also really wants a Princess Tiana Dress-Up. The next two items on her list are an Ariel and Handsome, which means that she wants an Ariel Princess Doll and Prince Eric Doll. She saw one at the Disney Store of them in their wedding clothes. She loves Zhu Zhu pets, so her last two items are a Zhu Zhu DSi game and a double stroller for her Zhu Zhu babies. She put little circles with checkmarks beside each item. Too cute! I love my little list maker and can't wait to see what she actually gets for her birthday. But I know that the BEST birthday gift of all will be having Daddy come home!

Funny Face Photos

The girls love that Mommy's new computer has a Photo Booth were we can take crazy pictures. Here are some of their favorites that we have taken:

Madison is glowing?!?

Oh no, there are two of them! She looks like she is trying to look at her twin. ;)

These last two pictures crack me up. Clay took these pictures of the girls before he left. Daddy's silly girls:

Snow White and her Dwarf

After school today Madison decided to dress-up like...

Snow White!

Once Madison got dressed up as Snow White she turned to Jocelyn and said, "do you want to be my dwarf?" Jocelyn eagerly answered, "YES! Which dwarf do I get to be?" Madison informed her that she could be "the dwarf that doesn't talk." Too funny! Needless to say it was a quiet afternoon with Snow White and her silent dwarf.

The "silent" Dwarf!

Jocelyn's day got even worse when Madison accidentally broke her Mulan doll.

Jocelyn LOVES Mulan, so she was very sad! Luckily she has two more just like it. ;)

Tonight Madison said, "sometimes I just can't stop smiling at school." I assumed it was because she likes school. She continued to tell me that "when I am in Centers or sit next to Scott at school I just start smiling and can't stop. I like Scott more than Kayla." Gift from Granddaddy!

Granddaddy surprised Madison by buying her her very own "pink" Nintendo DSi. Madison was so excited!!!!

That night Granddaddy sat Madison down at the dining room table and read the instruction manual to her. It was so funny to see her sit there and try so hard to pay attention. Granddaddy was even quizzing her on the safety rules. The poor kid just wanted to play her new DSi. Finally it was time to play. YEAH! Madison played for about 20 minutes and then got distracted and ran off to play with something else. Granddaddy on the other hand was addicted and sat at the dining room table most of the evening playing the new "pink" DSi. I must admit that it is quite addicting.

Jocelyn is even enjoying playing it. The girls have used several of their Christmas gift cards to buy DSi games. If anyone knows of any good little girl DSi games, please let us know.
*********************
Thank you very much Granddaddy (and Grandma)! We are having so much FUN with our new toy and everything else you got us for Christmas. The best gift was just getting to be together though. We loved getting to spend the week together. We love you and miss you already. XOXOXOXOX

Rainbow vs. Bingo

I took the girls to look at Christmas lights last night around our neighborhood. They started yelling "Rainbow" and "Bingo" at different houses. When I asked why they were saying that they told me the new Christmas light game they made up.

When you see colored lights you yell "Rainbow" and...

when you see all white lights, you yell "Bingo!"
I don't quite understand why "Bingo" is for white lights, but it was still a cute game they came up with.
***********************
So what do you prefer "Rainbow" or "Bingo" lights?
As many of you know I am a white light girl. No colored lights here. "Bingo" all the way!

Halloween Picture Challenge

Even though it is getting easier to have the girls pose together for pictures, it still has its challenges. Here are some of the funny rejects from today's Halloween photo shoot...

First, they didn't want to stand near each other.

Then they didn't want to smile.

Finally, Jocelyn decided to just push Madison out of the way and use her as a pedestal.
