Baxter Snuggles

Baxter snuggles are the BEST!

Jocelyn just couldn't resist snuggling him in his crate.

The girls had fun making Squirmy Jelly Worms!
Jocelyn ate the worms, but Madison just couldn't do it. ;)

  - 1 pkg unflavored gelatin (for extra firmness)
  - 3/4 cup whipping cream
  - 3 cups boiling water
  - 15 drops green food coloring
  - 100 flexible straws (or enough to fill your container)
  - Tall container (1 quart or 1 liter carton of milk)

Directions:
  1.  Combine gelatin in bowl and add boiling water.
  2.  Let it cool to luke warm and then add the whipping cream and 15 drops green food coloring.
  3.  Gather your straws (don't forget to flex them out) and put them in the container.
  4.  Add the gelatin mixture to the straw-filled container and let it set until firm.
  5.  Roll a rolling pin over the straws and squeeze them out.

Bold Bible Blooper

During our bible lesson today, I was talking to the girls about being BOLD for Jesus!
I asked them what they thought being BOLD meant and Jocelyn quickly said...

"not having any hair." ;)

Jocelyn learned that Papaw and...

Uncle Kyle are BALD and BOLD for Jesus!

Falling!

The girls and I met some friends at a local playground this morning and then went out to lunch with them. On the way home the "BRAKE" light came on in the van, so I drove it straight to the Honda dealership to have it checked out. After waiting an hour for them to evaluate it, they came and told me that the van needed new front and rear brakes. They also informed me that as they were pulling my van into the repair area, they hit something and popped my tire. Since the tire was their fault they repaired it free of charge. The girls and I were getting very bored during our 2.5 hour wait, so we had some fun taking pictures with my phone. The wall in the kid's waiting area was painted like the sky, so we took pictures of us...
FALLING!

SOLD!!!

Silly little Jocelyn always makes us smile, but she cracked us all up when she came around the corner with a 22 cent price tag on her nose. Daddy immediately said, "SOLD!" "How much for Mommy and Madison?" To which Madison quickly replied, "I am only 91 cents." What a deal!

Art Show!

The girls have been busy making watercolor pictures for their Art Show! They decided that we are going to watch Dumbo tonight, but stop the movie halfway through for an art show intermission. Where do they come up with these ideas?!? At least they haven't said that they are charging us this time. Last week they put on a ballet show after dinner and they charged us each a dime to see the show. Then I found out that the following night they charged the babysitter a quarter to see the show. Gotta LOVE them. ;)

Aunt Jocelyn

The girls are always excited to get mail, but today they were thrilled to get this letter from Ms. Keisha (Jocelyn's birthmother).

Hello Everyone,
I hope that your holidays went well! The pictures were adorable! I haven't seen snow in years! And the girls are growing like weeds! Brittani Ann is due March 20th with a bay girl of her own (Stella Marie), it happens so fast!
Well, I just wanted to Thank you for the Christmas photos and send this stationary to the girls to color on!
Take care of each other and I'll talk to you soon!
Love,
Ms. Keisha

When we explained to the girls that Jocelyn's half sister would be having a baby, so that would make Jocelyn an Aunt. Jocelyn quickly replied..."I don't want to be an ant. I want to be a ladybug!" ;)

Pancakes!

The girls eat tons of mini pancakes, so a couple of weeks ago I taught them how to use the microwave and make their own.

Here is a video of Madison showing you how she can make pancakes all by herself.

It looks like Jocelyn needs a little more practice. ;)

Jocelyn was very sad that she burnt her pancakes!

Jocelyn accidentally cooked her pancakes for 3 minutes instead of 30 seconds. Don't worry Jocelyn, a couple of months ago Granddaddy burnt the pancakes too.

She couldn't figure out what went wrong!?!

Banana Babies

While we were at Grandma and Granddaddy's house the girls found out that Granddaddy has a nickname for Grandma. Jocelyn was trying to call Grandma by her nickname, but said "Banana Mama" instead. We all started laughing because she thought she had said it right, but it wasn't even close. The girls got really silly and started calling each other "Banana Babies." Anytime anyone said "Banana Mama" or "Banana Baby" the girls would just laugh and get super silly. Today when I was grocery shopping I almost died laughing when I saw these...

Banana Babies!!!
(chocolate covered bananas)

I couldn't wait to show the girls when they got home from school. They thought it was so funny. Needless to say my two silly Banana Babies ate these Banana Babies for a snack today. They come in milk chocolate, dark chocolate and covered in peanuts. We just wish we could share our "Banana Babies" with our favorite "Banana Mama!"

Good Morning, Jocelyn!

Jocelyn was the first one awake this morning. I heard her dragging something down the stairs, so I snuck down to see what she was up to. When I got downstairs she was all snuggled up...

on the couch with her dolls. She had snuck into Madison closet and dragged the My Size Barbie down the stairs by her hair. I guess since no one else was awake she decided to get some dolls out to talk to and snuggle with.

Breakfast in Bed!

Jocelyn usually wakes up first in the mornings. She likes to quietly play in her bedroom or look at books before she comes downstairs to eat breakfast. This morning however she snuck downstairs without me knowing and got her breakfast and took it back upstairs to have...

Breakfast in Bed!

She got herself two Pop Tarts for breakfast out of the pantry and took one of the pre-made cups out of the fridge and headed back up to her bed for breakfast in bed.
By the way, she really does sleep with all of that stuff in her bed. She is our little hoarder, but we still love her and she keeps us laughing.

Funny Face Photos

The girls love that Mommy's new computer has a Photo Booth were we can take crazy pictures. Here are some of their favorites that we have taken:

Madison is glowing?!?

Oh no, there are two of them! She looks like she is trying to look at her twin. ;)

These last two pictures crack me up. Clay took these pictures of the girls before he left. Daddy's silly girls:

Snow White and her Dwarf

After school today Madison decided to dress-up like...

Snow White!

Once Madison got dressed up as Snow White she turned to Jocelyn and said, "do you want to be my dwarf?" Jocelyn eagerly answered, "YES! Which dwarf do I get to be?" Madison informed her that she could be "the dwarf that doesn't talk." Too funny! Needless to say it was a quiet afternoon with Snow White and her silent dwarf.

The "silent" Dwarf!

Jocelyn's day got even worse when Madison accidentally broke her Mulan doll.

Jocelyn LOVES Mulan, so she was very sad! Luckily she has two more just like it. ;)

Jocelyn's First "Professional" Haircut

The girls and I were the first people in the door at the Mia and Maxx Salon this morning to see if they could fix Jocelyn's hair.

Jocelyn was very excited to be getting her first professional haircut.

The stylist was amazed at how straight Jocelyn cut her own bangs. Maybe Jocelyn will be a hair stylist when she grows up.

The stylist had to cut some layers on the sides of Jocelyn's hair in order to help even it out. She also cut about an inch of length off the bottom.

Jocelyn was happy with the final product, but has already decided that she doesn't like having bangs. Hopefully she learned her lesson and won't give herself a haircut again.

Jocelyn Gave Herself a Haircut

Jocelyn knew she was in trouble today when I discovered that she had used her school scissors to give herself a haircut.

The worst part was that instead of telling me what she did, she tried to hide the evidence by throwing the hair in the trash can.

Like I wouldn't notice that she has bangs all of the sudden.

She said that she was coloring and her hair kept getting in her eyes so she just cut it off. She really did a number on it. It looks like we will be going to the salon tomorrow and praying that they can fix it somehow.
I still can't believe how much hair she cut off.

Time Out

Jocelyn got sent to the "time out" bench today. Just a few seconds later I got a quick phone call. When I hung up, I had completely forgotten that Jocelyn was in time out. A couple minutes later, I remember and headed to the time out bench to talk to her.

I found her asleep on the time out bench. That is one way to serve your time, especially when Mommy forgets you are there. Oops!

Ready to mail!

Today I was busy writing thank you notes for all of the amazing Christmas gifts we have been given, when I got a phone call from my brother. I walked away from the thank you notes for just a minute. When I returned, I was surprised to find Jocelyn sitting there holding up a picture she had drawn for Daddy and announcing that it was ready to mail.

The little stinker took one of my stamps and stuck it to her picture. :)
(By the way, she dressed herself today. I told her she could stay in pajamas since we were just staying at home. She insisted on wearing her cherry pajamas, which are short sleeve. I told her it was too cold that she needed to wear something with long sleeves. So she did. She put on her Christmas pajamas with her cherry pajamas on top. Madison tried to tell her that they didn't match, but Jocelyn just said they both had red in them. Boy do we love our silly Jocelyn.)

Jocelyn decided to rock Daddy's hat in her "Little Sisters ROCK!" shirt.

Silly Girl

Clay decided to surprise the girls and I and take us to get ice cream tonight after dinner. I told the girls to go get their shoes on and get ready to go. Much to my surprise Jocelyn came around the corner and said she was ready looking like this...

She had all of her stuffed animals. Thank goodness she was wearing overalls, so that she had an extra place to put them.

Rainy Day

It has been a VERY rainy day today.
The power went out early this morning. The strange thing was that when the power went out, only the appliances stopped working. All of the lights in the house were working, but not the refrigerator, TV, washer, dryer, etc. Luckily, Clay had the day off today for Veteran's Day so he was here to help figure out what was going on. We called the power company and they sent someone right out.

The girls loved watching the man cut down some of the branches off the big tree that messed up one of the power lines that was bringing power to our house.

Grandma and Granddaddy sent the girls some rainboots. Jocelyn loved getting to wear them to school today. She said she was a cowgirl because she was wearing boots. :)

Madison can't wait for the rain to stop, so that she can go jump in some puddles in her pretty pink rainboots.
