Trick or Treating

This morning we had to take Daddy to the airport. He is sad that he has to miss another Halloween with his little monkeys.

Puppy Dog Jude!

The kids had so much fun walking around the neighborhood and getting candy.

They loved seeing all of the decorations.

Time to sort our candy. Madison ended up only keeping the Smarties, pink Starburst and Laffy Taffy. She put the rest of her candy back into the candy bowl to hand out to other kids.

Jocelyn on the other hand couldn't wait to start eating all of her candy. ;)

Pumpkin Pops!

The girls and I are looking forward to taking these cute Pumpkin Pops into their classrooms tomorrow for a special Halloween treat. We transformed Oreo truffles into Pumpkin Pops using some colored chocolate and sugar.

School Update

After a lot of prayer we have decided to homeschool Madison. I had a conference with her teacher this morning and she was very understanding and supportive of our decision. We all want to do what is best for Madison. God has blessed Madison with a love and ease of learning. Because of this she is way ahead of her classmates and is bored at school. She will be finishing out this week at school and then I will begin homeschooling her next week. We are looking forward to seeing what God has in store for our family as we begin homeschooling Madison.

Halloween Treats!

Madison and I made these lollipop spiders to take into her class for a special Halloween treat.

We also made a cute little ghost magnet to hang on our fridge with their Halloween picture from this year.

The girls were excited to get Halloween packages in the mail from Nana and Pop. They loved all of the new books, sweatshirts, purses and candy.

Field Day!

Today was Field Day at Jocelyn's school.

Jude wanted to do everything with Jocelyn. ;)

Night of the Living Museum!

Tonight we took the girls to Night of the Living Museum!

The girls dressed up like the characters from God's Little Princess. Madison was Gigi and Jocelyn was Lord Fluffy.

They LOVE the Virginia Living Museum!

Puppy Jude met us there.

The kids enjoyed seeing all of the cool costumes. The girls loved this talking mirror from Snow White.

We even got a temporary tattoo from Snow White.

There were tons of games for the kids to play.

We enjoyed listening to some spooky stories told by the witch.

What a FUN FALL night with FRIENDS!

Greek Festival

Today we went to a local Greek Festival!

The food was DELICIOUS! We tried a little bit of everything. We shared a Gyro, Greek Salad, Moussaka, Spanikopita, and Greek French Fries.

We each found a YUMMY dessert to try too. Madison liked the Finikia (butter, cinnamon, nuts and honey cookie). Jocelyn enjoyed the Kourambiethes (butter cookies with powdered sugar). My favorite was the Galatoboureko (custard filled fillo). Daddy had trouble picking a favorite.

After lunch we got to watch a performance by the Greek Dancers.

Madison can't wait to try out some of the new dances she learned.

We also enjoyed walking around and looking at what the vendors were selling. Several of the vendors ended up giving the girls things for FREE. The girls left the festival with two bracelets and two rings each as well as a real butterfly piece of art that the vendor was trying to sell originally for $130. The back piece of glass was cracked so he couldn't sell it anymore, so he asked if he could give it to the girls. They were so excited!

Halloween Goody Tubes

Jocelyn and I had fun making these Halloween Goody Tubes to give to her classmates.

Put goodies into a toilet paper tube. Then wrap the tube with streamers. Add some googly eyes and details.

Then we made a SPIDER!

Jocelyn can't wait to give her classmates the YUMMY MUMMIES and SWEET SPIDERS next week for a special HALLOWEEN TREAT!
