Mark's Melon Patch

Today we went with Katie's family to Mark's Melon Patch.

The girls got to pick more cotton.

Our family has so much in common with Katie's family.  Both families are military families that homeschool and have an adopted child.  Both dads are deployed right now, so we decided to plan some fun activities to do together.

The girls wanted to do the Spooky Barn Hay Maze, but came out screaming that it was too scary.

We let all of the kids pick their own pumpkin from the pumpkin patch.

Then we headed to see the beautiful flowers.

We had a picnic lunch and climbed trees.

Then we walked to the...

hay bales.

We also went on a hayride.

We had a fun day!

CC Crafters - Pumpkin Day!

The girls were thrilled to have their friends come over for CC Crafters today to decorate pumpkins.

Baxter has become the CC Crafters mascot.

We enjoyed making the example pumpkins to represent our family.  We made the chalkboard pumpkin a girl.

We put a cross on the glitter pumpkin because we love God and are so grateful that He died on the cross for our sins.

We are a military family, so we made our sequin pumpkin with patriotic stars.

Our thumbtack pumpkin has an R for Rabens.

Clay and I both graduated from USF, so our glitter glue pumpkin is green and gold.

Our scribble pumpkin is rainbow colored to remind us that God always keeps His promises.

Can't wait to see how everyone decorates their pumpkins.

The kids couldn't wait to get started.

They are hard at work decorating their pumpkins.

While their pumpkins were drying, they played the pumpkin bucket toss game.

Then, I took pictures of the kids with their finished pumpkins.

This week's Crafter of the Week!

Each child also got to take home some homemade pumpkin playdough.

The kids got to play with a big batch of pumpkin playdough while they waited for their parents to pick them up.

Madison made a pumpkin and scarecrow with the pumpkin playdough.  We can't wait till next week's CC Crafters.
