Graduation

Today was Clay's graduation from the Family Medicine Residency Program here at Eglin.

Banquet

Tonight Clay and I went to the Family Medicine Residency Banquet. It is always a great evening to get dressed up and enjoy time with friends.

The girls had a great evening with PapPaw. He took them to McDonald's and to play Goofy Golf. Madison wanted to take pictures of Daddy and Mommy all dressed up before we left. Here are her best attempts:

He also got a gavel for his service as one of the "Chief Residents."

The nurses gave him a book to help him survive working with Lance in Virginia.

Eewwww!

We are staying in the TLFs on base now that all of our stuff is loaded on the moving truck. The TLFs on base are very old, small and run down. I could live with that, but last night right before bed, I discovered a ...

Palmetto Bug right next to the bed!

Clay found some bug spray to kill it, but it ran up into the drapes before hopefully dying. He couldn't find the remains though, so it left me with a very uneasy feeling going to bed last night. I was ready to just head back to the empty house and sleep here.

One Day...Two Birthday Parties...Three Kids

The girls and I had two birthday parties to go to today.

In the morning we went to Della's 2nd birthday party. It was a "Green Party!" You were asked to bring a gently used or re-gifted present, instead of something new that we bought from the store.

In the afternoon we headed to Crestview to the Speakman's house to help them celebrate Emily and Katie's 1st birthday.

How much do I trust my husband?

I have been waiting for Clay to have time in his schedule to remove two spots off my skin. This morning he called while I was volunteering at Madison's school to see if I could come in. Needless to say after months of waiting, I jumped on the opportunity. Madison and I left school right after lunch and headed to Daddy's work.

The nurse came in and got my spots cleaned with iodine. I had one spot on my right shin and one on my left shoulder.

Madison was a little worried, and wanted to hug my feet. I took the opportunity to talk to her about the importance of sunscreen.

As you can see Madison watched intently as Daddy worked on Mommy.

Softball Tournament

Today was the Annual Hospital Softball Tournament. They have a rule that two females must play at all times. One of the female doctors had to leave for a hair appointment, so I got to play in Game 3.

I was very happy that I didn't embarrass myself too badly. I got walked twice, struck out once and hit the ball once, but unfortunately got thrown out at first.

I was the catcher and enjoyed waving to all my fans!

The girls loved getting to see Mommy and Daddy play softball. But I think they enjoyed playing with all of the other kids, getting dirty and jumping in puddles even more!

Fire Station

We went to a local fire station today for a quick look at the fire trucks.

Madison was very excited that the fireman let her sit inside the fire truck.

What a great way to end "Fire Safety Week!"

Air Force Armament Museum

Since Madison has been studying "Transportation," we decided to take a field trip to the Air Force Armament Museum.

It was a beautiful evening to walk around and look at all of the planes and helicopters.

My favorite was the new helicopter that just got flown in.

Madison's favorite plane was "Black Bird."

She loved "Black Bird" so much that she had to go back and say goodbye to it before we left.

Family Medicine Residency Pool Party

This evening we went to the Family Medicine Residency Pool Party. It was a great time to fellowship with all of the other doctors and spouses.

The girls had a great time playing together and with friends.

After a great evening of food and fellowship, we headed to the car to head home. Unfortunately that is when we discovered that our car battery was dead. Luckily Dr. Cantilina gave us a jump and we were able to make it to Walmart to buy a new car battery.

Trip to the Zoo!

Today Daddy took the girls to the zoo while I ran some errands and did the grocery shopping.

The girls were happy to see that the giraffe exhibit had been reopened.
