We (kinda) have wildlife!

This morning we were all getting ready to run some errands when we heard Jocelyn quacking at the back door. We finally went to see what she was doing and much to our surprise there was a duck at the back door.

He then went into the bushes to get away from us, so we went back inside to finish getting ready to go.

When we went to the front door to leave we found him standing there.

The girls were so excited that he came to visit us.

When we opened the door to go outside he walked down the steps and went into the grass. Madison named him "Azul" (the Spanish word for "blue") because he has a blue feather. If it had a pink feather the duck would be a girl.

We got a cracker and fed him while Jocelyn had a drink.

Then this afternoon a bunny came to visit us.

An action shot. She got scared by a car driving by and ran to the bushes.

She sat under the bush for a long time and then...

she decided to lay down and rest for a bit.
(The picture is fuzzy because I took it through the window/screen. I didn't want to disturb her.)

How cool! The boys will love to see this! While I was reading the picture descriptions I kept thinking "Aren't ducks that look like that female?" but then read what you wrote about Madison naming her. Cute!

Pop said to tell the girls that it is a "girl" duck. The males are the ones that have color-- green heads, gray body and colored feathers. As far as the bunny, you would have to check. Hugs and kisses, Nana and Pop

How cool that you guys and the Iturburus have wild love. We have deer on the side of the road, a fox down the street and a bay full of fish and dolphins...does that count?!!! :)
