Our 2009

January 2009


Our year was filled with lots of playing! The girls are best friends and love to play together at home or on the playground.


Madison's beloved beta fish named Princess died.


We took the girls bowling for the first time.

February 2009


The first few days of February we got to spend some extra time with Isaac since Wendi had to spend some time in the hospital after giving birth to Elijah.


We celebrated Valentine's Day and Mommy's 30th birthday!

March 2009


Madison and I went to the Cinderella Ballet.


We got official word that we would be moving to Langley Air Force Base in Virginia.


Clay and I played in the annual hospital softball tournament.


Madison discovered the joys of St. Patrick's Day at school. Those tricky little leprechauns left her a gold coin.

April 2009


We celebrated Easter together with Grandma and Granddaddy at the Eglin Officer's Club.


The girls went with Grandma and Daddy to an "Egg"stravaganza in Sandestin.


We took the girls to Disney World for the first time. What FUN we had there with Grandma and Granddaddy.


We went to Akers Farm to pick strawberries.

May 2009

We celebrated Mother's Day. I am so blessed to be a MOM!


We attended several birthday parties . We went to Della's birthday party, the Speakman's girls party and Isaac's birthday party.


We had to say goodbye to our dear friends. They moved to Pennsylvania.

June 2009


Madison graduated from Pre-K3.

We went to Virginia to find our new house.


We went paddle boating at Sandy Bottom Nature Park.


We stopped in North Carolina to visit Nana and Pop on the way back to Florida from Virginia.

We had a Ladybug birthday party for Madison, Jocelyn and Clay at Cherokee Park.


The movers came and packed up our household goods and we moved into temporary housing on base.

We had our friend Kendra take beach pictures of us before we left sunny Florida.

We celebrated Madison's 4th birthday!


Clay and I had to say goodbye to good friends at the Eglin Family Medicine Residency Banquet.


Clay graduated from the Eglin Family Medicine Residency Program.

July 2009

We celebrated Clay's 30th birthday!


We moved into our new house here in Virginia!


We celebrated Jocelyn's 3rd birthday and Jude's 2nd birthday.


We saw Virginia Beach by bicycle with Grandma and Granddaddy.


We took the girls to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA.


We visited Blue Gap Farm.


Clay got a new car.


I started homeschooling the girls.

August 2009


Nana and Pop came for a visit to see our new house.


The girls went to the dentist for their first cleaning.


We found a cool new playground called Fun Forest!


Daddy took the girls to Washington DC for the weekend with Lance and Jude. They had a great time at the National Zoo.


We had fun visiting the Children's Museum of Virginia.

September 2009


We went to Butler's Orchard in Maryland to pick apples, blackberries and raspberries.


We took the girls to Washington DC for a long weekend. They loved riding the Metro.


We took the girls to Skyline Caverns.


Madison's First Day of Preschool as a 4 year old.


Madison started ballet class.


We took the girls to Maymont for a weekend getaway.


We went to the Hampton Coliseum to see Disney on Ice.

October 2009


We went to a local Pumpkin Patch!


We had tons of FUN playing in all of the Fall leaves.


Princess Madison enjoyed going to all of the Halloween Bashes and Festivals here in Virginia.


Jocelyn won the Macy's Halloween costume contest.

We decorated for Christmas very early this year.

November 2009

Uncle Charles and Aunt Sandy stopped by for a quick lunch visit to say goodbye to Clay before he deploys.


Aunt Nelda, Uncle Guy, Mia and Blayke came to say goodbye to Clay and to celebrate an early Christmas.


We spent a lot of time playing and having FUN with Daddy!


We celebrate Nana's birthday with her in Williamsburg.


We spent Thanksgiving with Nana, Pop, Bill and Jean at the Langley Officer's Club.

Uncle Hank and Aunt Joyce came down to say goodbye to Clay and see the family.


We had a farewell dinner for Clay with Lance, Nyx and Jude. Clay and Lance had to say goodbye.

December 2009


We prepared for Clay's deployment.


The girls and I drove to Nana and Pop's house to spend the weekend with everyone before Clay left.

The girls and I spent 10 days at Fort Bragg with Clay while he completed some training before he left for his deployment.


The girls and I said goodbye to Clay.

Clay made it safely to his "Top Secret" deployment location!

The girls and I enjoyed our first SNOW here in Virginia!


Nelda and the kids came for a few days to do some Christmas activities and look at Christmas lights.


The girls and I went to Christmas Town at Busch Gardens.


Christmas 2009


Grandma and Granddaddy arrived on Christmas Day and stayed through New Year's Day. We had a great time going to Colonial Williamsburg while they were here.

We can't wait to see what God has in store for us in 2010!

I loved seeing your pictures. The girls are getting so big and more beautiful. Please keep up the pics they are so fun to look at. Olin saw them with me and said, "mom, you remember?" He couldn't remember the girls names, but he recognized them. He loved the princess dresses, "mommy, girls are gorgeous." Well, hope you have a wonderful 2010.

LoL! What a sweet boy that Olin is! We loved seeing the pictures too-Tristen and Jeren studied each one as Tristen read the captions and said something like "I remember that!" or "When did they do that?" after each one. :) Miss you guys!
