Banana Babies

While we were at Grandma and Granddaddy's house the girls found out that Granddaddy has a nickname for Grandma. Jocelyn was trying to call Grandma by her nickname, but said "Banana Mama" instead. We all started laughing because she thought she had said it right, but it wasn't even close. The girls got really silly and started calling each other "Banana Babies." Anytime anyone said "Banana Mama" or "Banana Baby" the girls would just laugh and get super silly. Today when I was grocery shopping I almost died laughing when I saw these...

I couldn't wait to show the girls when they got home from school. They thought it was so funny. Needless to say my two silly Banana Babies ate these Banana Babies for a snack today. They come in milk chocolate, dark chocolate and covered in peanuts. We just wish we could share our "Banana Babies" with our favorite "Banana Mama!"

Letter from Ms. Keisha!

Several of weeks ago we mailed a letter to Ms. Keisha (Jocelyn's birth mother). We weren't sure if she would write us back or not. We were very excited when we got home from Florida and discovered a letter waiting for us from Ms. Keisha!

It is the first letter I have ever gotten that is stamped with "Mail Originated at Florida State Correctional Institution." Her letter said:

Hello Everyone!

I hope you all had a happy and blessed Easter! I just wanted to thank you for the pictures and drawings! I can't believe how much the girls have grown. And they look so much alike in the St. Patrick's Day photos, they could almost pass for twins.

The fair pictures are still my favorite. I enjoy getting them, they certainly brighten my day! Time certainly flies as well, it's hard to believe that Jocelyn and Madison will be 5 & 6 already this summer! Wow!

OK, I'm going to close for now, I want this to hit this afternoon's mail pick-up.

(By the way, the girls are only going to be 4 and 5 years old this summer. The girls couldn't believe that Ms. Keisha thought they were older. ;)

Today we mailed another letter to Ms. Keisha to thank her for the letter she sent us. We also included some pictures from our fun in Florida.

Spring has Sprung!

The girls and I arrived home this afternoon to find that while we were in Florida, several of the flowers and trees in our yard bloomed. The girls were so excited when we drove up to our house and saw that Spring had Sprung!!!

The azaleas are all in bloom along the front of the house.

I love the bright color!

The rose tree is starting to bloom too.

The side yard is filled with purple and yellow flowers. We can't wait to see what blooms next.

Pool Time!

The girls and I spent the last few days at Grandma's and Granddaddy's house playing in the pool and packing. Grandma and I enjoyed laying in the sun while the girls played on the steps of the pool.

Jocelyn was so proud of herself for standing on the bottom step.

Mote Marine Laboratory

This afternoon we took the girls to Ken Thompson Park to play.

It was a gorgeous day to be outside by the water.

Then we met Granddaddy at Mote Marine Laboratory Aquarium.

The girls loved looking at all of the fish tanks and asking Granddaddy, "what is this fish called?"

Jocelyn liked the jellyfish.

Granddaddy helped the girls touch things at Contact Cove.

We finished our time at Mote Marine looking at the Manatees and Dolphins.

On the way home we passed a huge statue of the famous WWII Kiss.

When we got home we had dinner with Uncle Kyle and enjoyed playing with him before bedtime.
