Mrs. Hasselquist's Class Wore Their Best!

Madison's class read the book Mary Wore Her Red Dress.

Then we made our own class book. Each student was given a piece of paper and asked to draw a picture of themselves in their favorite outfit. They were also asked to write their name, cut out the sentence and glue it to the top of the paper. This was the first time that many of the students had ever used scissors.

Madison Rabens wore her green dress.

Madison wrote her sentence all by herself. I love how she is playing golf in her green dress. ;)

Flag and Friends

Madison's class has been studying the flag and learning the Pledge of Allegiance.

I took in these cute flag picture frame crafts that I had leftover from Clay's deployment to do with her class last Friday. The kids all enjoyed making their very own flag picture frame to take home.

School Picture Day!

Today is "Picture Day" at Madison's school. We took some practice shots this morning before school.

Pow-Wow!

Today we took the girls to the Thunder on the Bay American Indian Festival at Buckroe Beach Park.

We enjoyed watching the American Indian dances. The girls loved all of the costumes and outfits. There were tons of booths to shop at and lots of food to try. We sampled the American Indian "fried bread."

Madison learned how to make a rope out of wet corn husks.

Daddy helped Madison finish her corn husk rope while we waited in line to get our faces painted.

Sweet Sisters!

Goodbye Shotzie!

Nana and Pop had to put their beloved dog Shotzie to sleep today. We have had some great times with Shotzie and will miss him dearly.

Happy 37th Anniversary!

Today we want to wish Grandma and Granddaddy a very Happy 37th Anniversary! We LOVE you!!!

Summer is Here!

Madison came home from school yesterday and wanted to write a book. She worked very hard on her book all evening and then woke up early this morning to finish it before school. Madison drew all of the pictures and only needed a little help spelling some of the words in her story. She showed it to her teacher and asked if she could read it to the class at story time. She can't wait to read it to everyone.
