Madison's Ballet Recital

Today was Madison's first ballet recital.

Our little ballerina!

Madison wore the bun cover that I wore when I was a little ballerina. Her ballet teacher even added some flowers to her hair.

Madison's School Birthday Party!

Since Madison's birthday is in the summer, we decided to celebrate her birthday one month early at school.

Madison couldn't wait to go to school and celebrate her birthday!

She wanted a flower and butterfly party at school.

The girls LOVED their cute new flower outfits with matching tutus.

Jocelyn is ready to celebrate her big sister's birthday!

Our Day with Mrs. Jodi!

Our sweet friend Mrs. Jodi came to visit us today.

We introduced Jodi to Rita's Mango Gelato for a snack on our way to Williamsburg.

Then we enjoyed lunch at the Cheese Shop in Colonial Williamsburg.

After lunch we walked through the shops.

We had a great time window shopping and talking.

Then we headed to a pier near our house to feed the birds.

The girls LOVE Mrs. Jodi!

It was a beautiful day to be outside!

Our little "lady"bug found a ladybug to hold!

Jocelyn had FUN playing at the playground across the street from the pier.

Peek-A-Boo, I see you!

We even met some new friends to play with!

We finished our day at the Cinema Cafe to eat dinner and watch How to Train Your Dragon. What a great day with Mrs. Jodi!

Letters From Daddy!

The girls were excited to get a letter in the mail from Daddy!

Dear girls,
I just wanted to tell you how much I love you and miss you. I miss being able to play with you, taking you to the playground, reading you stories at bedtime, and giving you BIG Daddy hugs and kisses.
I think about you often and enjoy looking at your pictures on my wall and on my computer. Someday when you're older, I hope you'll understand why I had to go away for so long to help take care of the sick people here in Afghanistan. Although I'd much rather be home with you and Mommy, it's important that Daddy is over here to make sure the other kids' Mommies and Daddies stay healthy and safe so they can get home soon too.
I love you both so much and can't wait to see you again. Please continue to obey Mommy and be good helpers while I'm gone. Also make sure to give Mommy extra hugs, kisses, and snuggles since Daddy can't. Make sure to also tell her how much you love her and appreciate all that she does for you-do this often so Mommy never forgets how much we love her! I love you both very much and can't wait to see you again.
Love,
Daddy
P.S. I hope you like the butterfly and bows card.

Dear Brittney,
Even though I'll never be able to thank you enough for all that you do for our family... I'm going to keep trying!
I know it's extremely tough having to be solely in charge of everything (finances, the house, cars, the girls, cooking...and everything else), but I'm so proud of you for doing such an outstanding job while I'm gone. You obviously can live/survive without me, but I hope you won't have to for a very long time after this deployment.
I'm sorry I can't be there on those tough, emotionally draining days, but I'm thinking about you and praying for you often. Hopefully these last few weeks will fly by and I'll be home soon.
Love always,
Clay

We only have one month left until Clay comes home!

Strawberry Picking

This morning we went to Wood's Orchard which is only about 10 minutes away from our house.
We got to pick our own strawberries!

We looked at the beautiful flowers while we waited for our friends to join us.

We got to take a hayride to the strawberry field.

The girls enjoyed riding with Evelyn and Michael.

Madison couldn't wait to get picking the strawberries.

This one looks YUMMY!

The coolest strawberry we picked! They were attached at the stem.

After we picked the strawberries we invited all of our friends over for lunch. We enjoyed playing with our friends before they had to go home to take naps.

The girls and I made some strawberry sundaes for dessert! It was a great way to cool down after our hot morning picking strawberries.
