Pumpkin Math and Science

Today the girls did Pumpkin Math and Science.

How big around is your pumpkin?

They girls cut a piece of string to estimate the size of their pumpkins.

Madison's string was just right.

The girls had to estimate how many lines their pumpkins had and how much their pumpkins weigh.

Will our pumpkins float?

It FLOATS!

Now we are ready to carve our pumpkins!

Hunt Club Farm!

Today we took the girls to Hunt Club Farm in Virginia Beach.

They enjoyed looking at all of the pumpkins.

Jocelyn got to pet the chickens...

and goats.

Madison fell in love with the baby goats.

Jocelyn fed the alpaca.

She loved petting the puffy fur on top of the alpaca.

The cow was so relaxed.

I am still mad that Clay fed this llama after it sneezed on me. ;)

Jocelyn loved her pony ride on Thunder.

Madison was all smiles when she found out that her horse was also named Madison.

Greenbrier

Today we said goodbye to the beautiful colored leaves and mountains of West Virginia.

On the way home, we stopped by The Greenbrier. We all enjoyed walking around the resort and doing some shopping before finishing the drive home.

Pipestem Resort State Park!

Today we all went to the Pipestem Resort State Park and rode the Aerial Tramway.

We all loved our ride down the mountain...

looking at the beautiful colors and scenery.

When we got to the bottom of the mountain we enjoyed doing some exploring.

We headed back to the lodge for lunch and then took the kids swimming in the indoor pool, while Clay and Drew golfed.

Butterflies!

We had to take our butterflies with us to West Virginia, because two of them had not emerged yet.

We were so happy to see them finally emerge.

The butterfly was ready to fly away.

They were so beautiful with their wings open.

The kids were so excited to release them into the woods of West Virginia.

Day on the Lake!

It was a very foggy morning, but Clay took the big kids on a hike through the woods.

Jocelyn and Jude collected acorns. They collected and lined up more than 100 acorns by the end of the weekend.

Madison enjoyed playing with the frisbees while everyone else got ready.

Jocelyn was having fun throwing the frisbee too.

We picked up lunch at Subway and then headed to the lake to get on the pontoon boat.

The girls loved riding in the pontoon boat.

We all enjoyed our family time on the boat.

The girls want to do it again sometime.

We took the boat down to the dam.

The weather was perfect and the leaves were beautiful. We couldn't have asked for a better day on the lake.

Jude started to get a little bored on the boat, so he had fun playing with my hair clip. ;)
