Halloween Package from Keisha

We got a call from the Adoption Center letting us know that Jocelyn' birthmother, Keisha had sent the girls a Halloween package. We went to pick it up today.

The girls were very excited to see what Ms. Keisha sent them.

Jocelyn loved her gifts.

Each of the girls got a Princess crown craft set, a Halloween flashlight, party poppers, and some candy.

Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

Today was Madison's first school field trip. We went to the Pumpkin Patch at Mary Esther United Methodist Church.

Madison was very excited to be in her "Mrs. Hunter's Baby Cubs" field trip t-shirt and could hardly wait to get on the bus to go to the Pumpkin Patch.

Madison got to sit by Joe on the bus.

When we arrived they divided the kids into animal groups. Madison was not happy that she was going to be a pig for the day. She cheered up as soon as it was time to go play the games.

Madison decided to bowl on her knees.

Madison got a quick putt-putt lesson.

Look at the concentration. Daddy would be proud.

Then it was time for the bean bag pumpkin toss.

Then we went outside to get temporary tattoos.

Look, I got a ladybug tattoo!

What a cute scarecrow!

Mrs. Hunter's Baby Cubs are going on a hayride.

Madison was a little scared at first, but by the end she was...

screaming for more!

Time for a snack.

Madison loves getting to drink out of a real cup.

Off to pick a pumpkin. Which one will she choose?

She loves her new little pumpkin.

Spider Web Crafts

Take a black paper plate and cut small slits around the circle. Cut a long piece of white yarn and slide one end into a slit to start. Have your child use the slits to wrap the yarn around the circle to create the web. Leave a length of yarn hanging from the circle and attach a plastic spider ring.

Put a black paper plate in a pie pan and give each child a small dab of white paint. After the small dab of paint is placed on the plates, drop a marble in and let the child move the pie pan in all different directions to make a spooky spider web. After it has dried, punch a hole in the plate and attach a plastic spider ring in the web.

Halloween Snacks

Jack-O-Lantern Cookie Pops
Place a "Little Debbie" oatmeal crème pie on a plate. Spread orange icing all over it. Place one end of a craft stick into the crème at the bottom for a handle. Add raisins or chocolate chips for jack-o'-lantern features.


Edible Pumpkins

Use orange icing as the glue to hold the orange slice candies together to make a pumpkin. Add a green M&M for the stem.


Five Little Pumpkins

Break a Kit-Kat to make a fence. Then place 5 little pumpkins on the Kit-Kat fence. It is a great snack to make after reading the book Five Little Pumpkins.

Jack-O-Lantern Drink Bottles

The girls and I had a great time making these Jack-O-Lantern drink bottles. All you need to do is get the tiny water bottles and cover the lids with green electrical tape. Then we cut out the faces using stick back black felt. We filled our bottles with orange soda, but you could use any orange drink. Madison can't wait to share them with her friends tonight at Caregroup. We are also making them for all of her classmates for next week's Halloween Party at school.

Listening Therapy

Madison fell asleep during the last few minutes of her Listening Therapy today. I have to ask the specialist if it is still effective if she is sleeping.

Jocelyn's Sleepover

Jocelyn spent the night last night at Jodi and Cliff's house.

As you can see she slept very well. She was so comfortable that she didn't bother getting up until 9:30 this morning.

She enjoyed breakfast before...
