Water Day!

Today was Water Day at Sarasota Alliance Church.

We ate hot dogs, watermelon and snow cones after church.

Then it was time to get W-E-T!

The girls loved going down the water slide.

All smiles!

The BUBBLES were the BEST though!

They had bubbles everywhere.

Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium

Today Clay and his techs went to the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium.

It was over an hour drive, so they stopped by the gorgeous water along the way.

Clay was very impressed with the aquarium and....

enjoyed getting to see the whale sharks.

Botanical Garden

It looks like he is enjoying himself and...

 embracing the Japanese culture.

Can't wait to see what they do next.  ;)

Comics

Madison has a new morning routine at Grandma and Granddaddy's house.

Every morning she reads the comics while she eats her mini pancakes with whipped cream.

Squirmy Jelly Worms

The girls had fun making Squirmy Jelly Worms!
Jocelyn ate the worms, but Madison just couldn't do it. ;)

Ingredients:
  - 2 packs (3 oz) Raspberry jello
  - 1 pkg unflavored gelatin (for extra firmness)
  - 3/4 cup whipping cream
  - 3 cups boiling water
  - 15 drops green food coloring
  - 100 flexible straws (or enough to fill your container)
  - Tall container (1 quart or 1 liter carton of milk)

Directions:
  1.  Combine gelatin in bowl and add boiling water.
  2.  Let it cool to luke warm and then add the whipping cream and 15 drops green food coloring.
  3.  Gather your straws (don't forget to flex them out) and put them in the container.
  4.  Add the gelatin mixture to the straw-filled container and let it set until firm.
  5.  Roll a rolling pin over the straws and squeeze them out.

Clay's 1st Typhoon!

This is the view from Clay's hotel balcony.  So far the wind is picking up and the feeder bands of rain have started.

Thankfully the base is closed so everyone can stay inside and wait out the storm.

Clay is in Japan!

Clay is adjusting to the driving, extreme humidity and the 13 hour time change.  Luckily, we have been able to Skype with him.  He teaches the girls a new Japanese word each time we Skype.  So far they know how to say: hello, goodbye and thank you.
