Early Celebrations

Today we had an early birthday celebration for Clay, Madison and Jocelyn.  The girls are going to miss being with Daddy this year for their birthdays, so we decided to celebrate early while we were together.

We also celebrate Father's Day early with Daddy!

We gave Daddy an Air Force blanket to take with him when he deploys.

Madison was excited that she got to open three gifts before her real birthday.  She wants to have a dinosaur party this year for her 7th birthday.

Jocelyn wants to have a pool party this year for her 6th birthday.

Madison got SMATH!  A great way to practice her math facts this summer.

Jocelyn is looking forward to making very silly sentences with her new game.

 Madison got a Mommy Doll!
Ever since we got her a Daddy Doll before Clay's last deployment, she has been begging for a Mommy Doll.

Jocelyn got a new and improved Daddy Doll.  It has Major Daddy in a flight suit.

The girls loved making their Mommy and Daddy Dolls kiss!  ;)

The girls also got new Barbie scooters.

After a delicious steak dinner, we enjoyed birthday cupcakes for dessert.

 Happy (early) 33rd Birthday Clay!

Happy (early) 7th Birthday Madison!

 Happy (early) 6th Birthday Jocelyn!

Snooty

This morning we went to visit Mamaw and Papaw.

Then this afternoon, we took the girls to the South Florida Museum to meet Snooty!

We are so happy that Daddy is here with us.

The girls enjoyed seeing everything in the museum.

Clay and I were just as excited to see Snooty as the girls.  We both remember going to see Snooty on field trips as kids.

Snooty will be celebrating his 64th birthday on July 21st.

 Grandma kissing Snooty!

Madison kissing Snooty!

The girls enjoyed meeting Snooty and learning about Manatees.

Mixon Fruit Farms

Even though we did not expect to see Clay for many months when he left for his deployment, we are thrilled to say that he is here visiting us in Florida for a bit.

Today we took a family trip to Mixon Fruit Farms!

The girls always enjoy going through the Butterfly Maze.

They love running through the maze and...

seeing all of the beautiful flowers!

We checked out the gift shop and bought some fudge for Daddy. Then we hopped on the tram for a tour of the orange groves and to see the animals.

The girls got to feed a deer.

They got to touch a tortoise.

Then they got their picture with an owl.

The girls enjoyed getting to eat ice cream and feed the fish after the tour.

We loved are afternoon at Mixon Fruit Farm!

We are so happy that we get to spend a little bit of extra time with Daddy!

Madison's 6th Lost Tooth

Today Madison lost her 6th tooth!  We were sitting by the pool and Madison shocked us all by pulling out her own tooth.

We didn't bring her tooth box to Florida, but she is excited that she gets to use my old tooth fairy pillow.

Madison wrote a note to the Tooth Fairy:
Hi!  I poold (pulled) my own tooth at the pool.
I think she is hoping the Tooth Fairy will give her extra money for being so brave.

Hampton Tornado

An EF1 tornado with 98 mph winds went through Hampton, Virginia.  Luckily, the girls and I are safe in Florida at Grandma and Granddaddy's house.

The tornado path was 3.5 miles long and was less than a 1/4 mile from our house in Virginia!

Here is a picture of the tornado going right behind our house.

We are thankful that no one in the area was seriously hurt by the tornado!
We had one branch fall and lots of debris in the yard, but there is no damage to the house or car.  Please pray for all of our neighbors as they attempt to clean-up and repair the damage.

Several of our neighbors are still without power due to multiple downed power lines on our street.  Our house was without power, cable, Internet and phone for the night, but everything is now restored.
