Father's Day 2013

Clay spent the last two weeks in Ohio.  We're so happy that he got home just in time for Father's Day.

We LOVE Daddy because...

he goes to church.

he is nice.

he is a doctor and heals people.

he likes to take us golfing.

he gets Krispy Kreme donuts.

he takes us to FUN places.

he loves the Lord.

he loves us.

he loves his wife.

he shaves his whiskers.

he makes us happy when he does funny stuff.

he plays Barbies with us.

he cooks yummy chicken.

Early Celebrations

 Today we had an early birthday celebration for Clay, Madison and Jocelyn.  The girls are going to miss being with Daddy this year for their birthdays, so we decided to celebrate early while we were together.  

 We also celebrate Father's Day early with Daddy!

 We gave Daddy an Air Force blanket to take with him when he deploys.  

Madison was excited that she got to open three gifts before her real birthday.  She wants to have a dinosaur party this year for her 7th birthday.

 Jocelyn wants to have a pool party this year for her 6th birthday.

 Madison got SMATH!  A great way to practice her math facts this summer.

 Jocelyn is looking forward to making very silly sentences with her new game.

 Madison got a Mommy Doll!

Ever since we got her a Daddy Doll before Clay's last deployment, she has been begging for a Mommy Doll.

 Jocelyn got a new and improved Daddy Doll.  It has Major Daddy in a flight suit.

The girls loved making their Mommy and Daddy Dolls kiss!  ;)

The girls also got new Barbie scooters.

 After a delicious steak dinner, we enjoyed birthday cupcakes for dessert.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to our wonderful Daddy! We enjoyed getting to celebrate this special day with him this year. We missed him terribly last year when he was deployed.

We spent the morning at church and then came home to have some lunch. Nana and Pop arrived shortly after lunch. We spent some time with them before they went to check into their hotel. Clay enjoyed an afternoon nap and some golf, before we all headed to dinner at Surf Riders. After dinner we headed back to the house for gifts.

The girls are excited to have Nana and Pop here for a short visit.

We got Nana a Cricut for her retirement gift. She taught for 33 years. Nana was kind enough to bring us a lot of her classroom supplies, so that we can use them for homeschooling.

We not only get to celebrate Father's Day with Pop, but also his early birthday.

Pop enjoyed his new hat, USAF golf club cover and a gift card to Olive Garden, but I think he liked snuggles from the girls best of all.

Time to give Daddy his Father's Day gifts. He recently taught the girls how to thumb wrestle, so we couldn't resist getting him these thumb wrestling characters. ;)

We also got Daddy a new iPod alarm clock. The girls love to snuggle in our bed and listen to worship music before we read our bible story and tuck them in their own beds at night.

We also got Daddy some itunes gift cards so that he can buy some more worship music.

Thank you Lord for blessing our family with an amazing father. We also thank you for Granddaddy, Pop, Great Grandpa, and PapPaw.

Daddy's Little Girl!

Last night while Clay was tucking Jocelyn into bed, he told her how thankful he is to the Lord for allowing him to be her father. They had a very sweet little conversation about her adoption. The older she gets, the more she is understanding and asking questions. We just pray that God will give us the answers to help her understand the amazing plan He has for her life and how much she is loved by our family and her birth family.

Happy Father's Day!

We are sad that we don't get to be with our Daddy on Father's Day.

But we are thrilled that he is on his way back to the United States. Clay will actually get to see his father on Father's Day! Clay's parents, brother and his brother's family will be meeting him at the airport when he arrives in Charlotte, NC this afternoon. They will get to spend a couple hours together before he catches his flight to Fort Bragg. I can't think of a better Father's Day gift for Pop than having his youngest son return home safely from his deployment. May God bless their time together.

I would like to wish my Dad a very Happy Father's Day too! I tried to find a picture of just the two of us and the only one I could find was from my wedding. I think the next time we are together we need to take some new pictures. ;)

God blessed me with amazing parents. I can honestly say that they are my best friends. If something good, bad or just plain funny happens they are the first people I want to share it with. They have been a tremendous help during Clay's deployment. We talk on the phone daily if not more. ;) My dad would make a point of calling me on his way home from work just to check in. He always makes himself available if I have a problem or question about the house, car, or anything. My dad is the best father a girl could ask for. No matter what I will always be daddy's little girl! Thank you for everything you have done and do for our family. We love you!

Happy Father's Day!

The girls and I did our best to give Clay a great Father's Day weekend. On Saturday he went out golfing with several of the doctors from work.

Since Jocelyn loves candy, she decided to give daddy one of his favorite candies. She found a jumbo bag of Hot Tamales for daddy at Sam's Club. He has plenty to share.

Well Madison wanted to get daddy something that was special too, so since she is so proud of wearing big girl underwear she decided to give daddy some underwear of his own. Luckily for him they don't have a princess or Dora on them. She was very sad to find out that Daddy's underwear just came in plain colors.

This is the Father's Day craft that the girls made for Clay. It says...

To My Super Dad:

I love you very much Dad. I wish that we could spend Father's Day together, but I am looking forward to your visit later this week. We hope you enjoyed your cards and we can't wait to take you on a shopping spree to the Bass Pro Shop while you are here. The girls are very excited to see Granddaddy. They are so happy that you and Grandma will be at their Princess Pizza Party at the Park. Have a great Father's Day. I hope you know how much I love you and what an amazing father you are. All you ever wanted for a gift as I was growing up was "Respect." I hope you know that you do and always will have my respect. I could not have asked for a better father or a better Granddaddy for the girls. You are the best! See you in a few days.
