Virginia Zoo!

Today we took the girls to the Virginia Zoo in Norfolk!

Madison wanted to wear her "giraffe" dress to the zoo to show the giraffes!

The zoo had a very cool splash pad with this HUGE granite ball that you could spin in the water. We promised the girls that we will wear our swimsuits next time and play in the water.

The zoo was filled with beautiful flowers.

Home Days!

It has been so HOT, that the girls and I have stayed inside most of the week. The girls LOVE "home days!" We have played dress-up, played games, built with blocks, played pretend and of course done lots of art and school.

The girls now have their own special areas over their desks in the school room to hang their artwork and papers.

They both LOVE having their names and papers hanging on the walls!

This morning while Madison and I were doing some school work together, Jocelyn decided to practice writing her letters on the dry erase board.

She was so proud of her work!

Kid's Day at Fort Monroe

Today we took the girls and Jude to Kid's Day at Fort Monroe. We enjoyed it so much last year that we decided to go back again this year.

We were so happy to take Jude with us today and give Nyx a much needed break since Lance is deployed.

The kids had fun sitting in all of the emergency vehicles.

Our Finished Pottery!

Last weekend we took the girls to paint their own pottery. This afternoon I took the girls back to pick up their finished pottery.

Madison LOVES her purple and pink tooth fairy box!

She can't wait to loose her first tooth and put it in her tooth fairy box!

Jocelyn thinks that her plate is the prettiest plate she has ever seen.

It is definitely one of the most colorful plates. ;)

Gummi Bears!

The girls have recently discovered Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears. They LOVE to watch the old shows, pretend they are Gummi Bears and even draw them.

Madison drew this cute picture of Grammi and Sunni bouncing to their tree.

She even wrote "Madison loves Gummi Bears" on the back of her picture!

Memories of Ezra Layman

Today I will be attending Ezra Layman's memorial service.

It was a real blessing and honor to know Ezra Layman since he was very instrumental in leading my grandparents, Bob and Bertha Poffenbarger, to a personal relationship with the Lord. Ezra, along with his lovely wife Margaret, mentored my grandparents and helped them grow in Christ as they fellowshipped and served over the years together at the Tabernacle. My dad was personally blessed to have Ezra on his left arm as he was baptized on May 11, 1960 at Siesta Beach. At that moment my dad was filled with a spiritual gift that has stayed with him since. Because of Ezra’s obedience, servanthood and love for the Savior, Ezra has played an integral part in sharing the Gospel with three subsequent generations of our family.

A Pop of Daisies!

A friend of ours that we met at CrossWay Community Church in Florida, has her own Etsy shop called Graceful Girls!

I ordered the girls these adorable bows to match the dresses that I bought them at Gymboree. The best thing about this bow is that you can take the daisy off and wear it separately with another outfit. It is like having two bows for the price of one.

Every hairdo looks better with a beautiful bow!
