Mexico Mission Trip

Our NBC Mission Team headed to Mexico for Spring Break!

We served in an orphanage in Monterrey.

The girls were excited to meet some of the kids when we arrived.

They had a delicious meal prepared for us when we arrived.

The girls were tired from a LONG day of traveling.

Donuts for dessert!

The next morning we taught the kids about Easter.

The kids loved playing with balloons while we waited for everyone to arrive.

We had a great time of worship together.

Our girls did their best to help lead worship and

teach the kids the motions to the songs.

We then put on a skit for the kids.

After the Bible story, we did a craft!

We made crosses out of our pretzel snacks!

Time to play some games!

They had to use their palm branch to move their balloon across the finish line.

Our youth pastor showing off his skills!

Pastor Clayton had to prove he could do it too!

More fun balloon relays

We cooled down with some coloring pages.

Sweet Angie crawled up and took her nap on me that afternoon.

Every night we loaded up into the jeep and headed to church.

Jose did a great job interpreting for Josh and Clayton at the four churches we visited.

Jocelyn loved all of the dogs at the orphanage.

Another great day of worship with the kids.

The kids making their craft on the 2nd day.

Even the workers joined in the fun.

We showed the empty tomb with Oreo cookies for snack time!

Playtime!

We had egg and spoon races.

We did an egg toss!

Then we had lots of fun with water balloons to cool down!

Then we lined the kids up for an Easter Egg Hunt!

Some wonderful ladies at church made salvation dolls for the kids.

Our Mission Team monkeys in the tree!

We ate some delicious food in Mexico, but also some surprising food.  One morning they served us scrambled eggs with donkey meat in them.  They didn't tell us that until after we ate breakfast.

We discovered that we don't want a bird. This bird would bite and made so much noise right outside our bedroom.

On Thursday, we took a tour of the city and did some shopping.

The youth girls got to sing at two of the churches we visited.  I got to share my testimony at one of the churches too.

It took us five hours to cross the border and get back to McAllen, Texas.

Our little Helen Keller

Madison had to write a research paper on a famous American for her CC Essentials class.

She chose to write and dress up like Helen Keller for her report.

Click here to see the video of Madison sharing her research paper with her class.

She did a great job and is already thinking about who she is going to research and write about next.

Church Article

The Christian Index published an article about our church.

Click this link to read the full article. I was mentioned in part of the article:
Leading by example
Foster is quick to give credit to his staff and praised not only Dinn, but Brittney Rabens, preschool director; Josh Johnson, student pastor (and former student pastor Jason Hubbard); Stephanie Harrison, children’s director; and Michael Sapp, worship pastor, for their faithful service and thriving ministries.
