The girls love that one of their best friends, Katie, is on their squad.

Renovations

I am trying to get some home renovations done before Clay gets home from his deployment next month.

I am getting wood floors put throughout the downstairs and replacing the countertops with granite.  I have already bought new stainless steel appliances that are just waiting to get installed.

The demolition of the backsplash started today.  They are coming back on Monday to take out the countertops and start tearing out the old flooring.

Baxter is enjoying the old flooring before it all gets replaced next week.

CC Crafters - Happy New Year

Today at CC Crafters we celebrated New Years!

The kids decorated their own 2014 calendar.

Kaid dug a hole in the yard for us to bury our time capsule.

Each of the kids wrote something or drew a picture to put inside the time capsule.

Kaid decided to ask God to bless our time capsule and our year.

Time to put our time capsule in the ground.

We are all looking forward to digging it up next year.

Mary Bennett won Crafter of the Week!

Babysitting

Today the girls and I went to babysit Katie and her younger siblings.

We brought over an extra set of pom poms for the little kids to play with while we practiced our cheers for cheerleading.

Madison was a big helper with the little ones.

The older girls made some Duct Tape outfits for Duct Tape Night at Awana this week.

Katie in her Duct Tape shirt!

The back of her shirt.

Their daddy is also deployed, but he is coming home in a few days.

The kids did a great job making their daddy a special banner.

Upward Cheerleading

Our church asked me to coach Upwards Cheerleading.  I am trying to embrace this new adventure.

Today was our first practice.

Madison is a natural leader and was already calling cheers and teaching others.

Our first game is Saturday.  We are looking forward to a great season.

Back to CC

Today was our first day back at CC after the holiday break.
The girls and I made the kids "Ring in 2014" Ring Pops!

The next six weeks we are studying artists.  Today we learned about Rembrandt.  He liked to draw portraits, so the kids tried to draw a portrait of me.  I didn't realize I was so tan.

I do have quite the pumpkin head.  ;)

Jocelyn with her portrait of Mommy.

Mrs. Staci even decided to get in on the fun.  I think I like her portrait of me the best.

Jocelyn was helping with one of today's science experiments.

Mrs. Staci was trying to do it, but...

got angry when she was the only one that couldn't do it.
