Great Grandma!

Today we went to visit Great Grandma (Granddaddy's mom).

The girls and I loved getting to see her new place.

I love how there is a younger picture of Great Grandma in the background of this picture.

Then we walked to the lake and watched the ducks.

Madison and Great Grandma snuggled on the bench.

We are looking forward to visiting with Great Grandma again very soon!

Welcome to Camp Poff!

We packed up the van and started the drive to Florida on Sunday morning. Grandma was so kind to fly up to Virginia and make the long drive back down to Florida with us. It was so nice to have some company during the drive and an extra pair of hands to help with the girls. We spent the night at a hotel just south of Jacksonville on Sunday night. Then finished the drive to Grandma and Granddaddy's house this morning.

Granddaddy surprised us with a HUGE banner. We are so happy to be at Camp Poff for the holidays!

Grandma and Granddaddy also had bikes waiting for the girls to use while they are in Florida.

We finished our day having dinner with Uncle Kyle.

Jamestown

We have been learning about Jamestown. This week the girls made their own settlements.

Madison named her settlement Sailin, because you can "sail in" to her town.

Jocelyn's Town is on the water with lots of crops, houses and a church.

The girls were so excited to go to the Jamestown Settlement.

Time to check out the Fort.

Madison in her armor.

Jocelyn got to steer the ship. ;)

Egg (aka Tooth) Experiment

We have been learning about teeth, so we did a little experiment.

First, we hard boiled some eggs to represent teeth.

Then we put the eggs (aka teeth) in cups of blueberry juice, soda, and red wine overnight. The girls predicted that all of the liquids would stain the eggs/teeth.

This morning they took the eggs/teeth out of the liquids.

They were so happy that their predictions were correct.

The blueberry juice stained the egg/tooth the darkest.

Time to brush our eggs (aka teeth) to see if we can brush away the stains.

What a fun experiment!
