I is for Ice Cream Sundae

We finished off "I Week," by doing an activity called I is for Ice Cream Sundae.

First, we made some Ii's with whipped cream.

Jocelyn couldn't wait to find out what was next.

Time to make a mess.
Look what I drew in my whipped cream.

We dotted our lowercase i's with cherries.
Time to eat the whipped cream and cherries. Where is the ice cream?

Here is a video of "I is for Ice Cream Sundae."

Inchworms

Since it is "I Week," we made some inchworms using pretzel sticks, green frosting and chocolate chips.

(Oops, the eyes slipped.)

Our edible inchworms were YUMMY!

Invisible Tape Art

For "I Week," we decided to make Invisible Tape Art.

All you do is put invisible tape on your paper in any design.

Then you paint all over the paper. Today we used watercolors.

Here is Madison's finished Invisible Tape Ii Art!

Jocelyn's finished hidden letter Invisible Tape Art. What letters can you find?

Painting with Ice!

It is "I Week!" Our keyword this week for the short "i" sound is igloo. Since we don't have an igloo to play with, we decided to have a little fun with ice today.

Yesterday I put some water into small paper cups. I added a few drops of food coloring and put a popsicle stick in each one. Then I put them in the freezer overnight. Today we were ready to paint with our Ice Painting Pops!

Jocelyn decided to use the yellow Ice Painting Pop, which didn't show up very well. They did LOVE the fact that the colored water melted off the popsicle and colored their paper.

The hard part was trying to keep Jocelyn from eating the Ice Painting Pops. ;)
We decided to eat some Italian Ice while our Ice Paintings dried.
